I explained point-by-point why I disagreed with you stating as a fact that a woman who doesn't need the money would obviously quit her job when she had a baby. Also agreed that it could happen, but it is not a given that it would happen, as you had originally stated. I don't think you're a woman basher at all, MS. I think you love women. But I do think you assume wrongly or your posts sometimes don't make it clear that you're sharing a possibility rather than what you think is absolute. If you're going to make absolute statements about women in a forum full of strong women, expect to get challenged, buster!

I stayed home when my kids were small because I could afford it and wanted to. I took this summer off because I could afford it and wanted to. I have decided that I'm only going back to work part time in the fall because I can afford it and I want to. I have worked 50-60 hours a week since my youngest was 4. I will not do that to my children or myself anymore. Id rather be home with them full tine, as being older they're more fun than when they were small, but they're involved in sports and friends and all that so I see no reason I should be sitting at home all day while they're in school. Id go out of my mind from boredom, hence the going back part time.
