WATERLOO (KWWL) -
Brittany Brousseau, a cousin of missing Evansdale girls Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins, was arrested Monday on drug charges.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Brousseau was driving on West 5^th Street in Waterloo around 7:34 a.m. Monday and passed a police officer. The officer says that when he ran the license plate, it came back to an owner without a driver's license.

The officer says that when he pulled Brousseau over, she told him that she didn't have a license. The officer says that Brousseau also declined to let him search the vehicle, but a K-9 indicated the possibility of drugs being in the van.

During a search of the van, the officer says he found a pill bottle containing .5 mg and 2 mg of Alprazolam, a drug used to treat anxiety and panic disorders.

According to the officer, Brousseau knew of the drugs but did not want to talk about them.

Brousseau was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful possession of prescription drugs. She was released on $2,000 bond. Her initial appearance is scheduled for Aug. 16.

Brousseau is the daughter of Tammy Brousseau, Misty Cook-Morrissey's sister.

I don't believe that this family is made-up of outstanding citizens. Heather and Drew seem to be the most "normal", Drew even has his own business. I feel for these two the most (except for Lyric and Elizabeth of course). They seem like they are trying to give their children a normal life without the drugs and baggage that goes with it. The problem with having siblings and other close family members into the drug lifestyle is that you will get sucked into it at some point unless you cut-off contact with them.

I still think that this abduction has something to do with Dan and Misty's lifestyle. Maybe they owe people, maybe Dan was going to testify against someone else in his plea deal, maybe they just exposed Lyric to the wrong (people) person.

I don't believe in coincidences. The fact that Lyric and Elizabeth are missing and all the criminal activities this entire family is involved in must be related somehow. I hope that LE is able to unravel this mystery and this case doesn't go cold like so many others we've seen.

LINN COUNTY, Iowa - Authorities have blocked a road and are searching a cornfield in southeast Linn County.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office, Marion Police and Mount Vernon Police are near the Highway 13 and Highway 30 junction. Cedar Woods Road is blocked at this time.

It appears authorities, with the assistance of a police dog, are searching a nearby cornfield. Deputies are not saying what or who they are looking for.

Meantime, Lyric's mother, Misty Morriseey, told people at a concert in Waterloo Saturday evening, the girls fate is in God's hands.

This case is pretty quiet right now. I did find a couple of recent articles.

The high-profile case of two missing Iowa cousins inspired a flood of tips to law enforcement while the girls remain unaccounted for.

The police have received numerous tips since the FBI has asked about a white van. I suppose every neighborhood has one white " 'napper van" that people are calling tips in on.

Why would Misty really give a shit anyway? She hasn't raised Lyric, there is no parent-child bond between them. Lyric is just another kid her (Misty's) mama is raising. I agree that Misty seems mentally deficient in some way-she always has that vapid look about her.

I am surprised to see Heather all smiles though. I thought she has been genuinely distraught over Elizabeth being missing. Someone needs to cut those fucking nasty nails of hers. All I can think of is the amount of bacteria under those claws, and the amount of money spent to maintain them.

Life must be good while they are using the money from the donations to find Lyric and Elizabeth. Both Tammy and Misty look like they've gained weight and Heather is much tanner since the girls went missing.
