I dislike 99.99% of pits out here! My .0001% is my best friends pit who has never seen a chain or an hour without human interaction.

I just wanted to post a picture of yardmate of the Roti that attacked me and my Beagle Chloe last July. Eli, who is half husky/half lab(?) broke out of his fence 3 weeks ago and has been in our fence since. The *owners* came and told me on Saturday they were taking him back but I refused so they finally *gave*him to me. He is now a member of our Pack and while he prefers to sleep outside, he has been bathed and has a vet's appointment on Saturday for his current shots and getting on heartworm and flea meds.

I still don't 100% trust Eli with kids or inside without us here but I feel this is a step towards keeping a dog from turning BAD.

WTH don't ppl take the time to socialize and love and accept a dog in their family instead of throwing them outside to bark at neighbors while throwing them a little food here and there???????????

An eight-month-old boy has died after being savaged in a pit bull attack, police said.

As many as three dogs, believed to belong to the slain baby’s family, were involved in the mauling.

It took place just before 5pm on Thursday at a house in Lemon Grove, San Diego.

Authorities declined to immediately release the victim's name. An investigator with the county Medical Examiner's Office, which generally identifies deceased people following family notification, said the case had been sealed from public disclosure at the request of sheriff's officials.

I have no problem with reducing/ limiting breeding of potentially violent dogs but euthanazing those that exist just because of their breed? Pfft.

Point is there are bad dogs no matter the breed. Bad owners are the main reason for any attack no matter the breed. NO idiot owners are the main reason for attacks/death.

If you have ever been attacked by any dog you might feel differently about ANY dog attack. My clothes were torn completely off and my Beagle's ear took hours of surgery to reattach. Had my Beagle been a child she would have died. Had I not been determined to live, I would have died.

Rebecca Carey, a close friend said, was always on the lookout for animals needing her help.

That generous spirit cost the 23-year-old Decatur woman her life, when she was killed by multiple dog bites sometime over the weekend, DeKalb County police said Thursday.

"Since the second grade when she read the book 'Throw Away Pets,' she vowed to be a voice for all animals," her parents, Greg and Ellen Carey, said in a statement. "Upon placing her first abandoned animal in a permanent loving home in 2003, she volunteered countless hours with rescue networks and animal shelters. There she did what she loved the most: rescuing animals from untenable situations to find them safe, loving homes."

Carey had five dogs living with her at the time of her death. One of them was a pit bull she had owned for six years. The Georgia Perimeter college student had taken in another pit bull and a boxer mix, along with a Presa, a large Spanish breed.

Carey was also dogsitting a Presa owned by Jackie Cira, who discovered her friend's body Sunday afternoon after she failed to show up for work at Alpharetta's Loving Hands Animal Clinic.
