since we 3 kids were not allowed to eat 'that crap', of course we craved it! it was next to the library so we sneaked it. and the HS kids made it a hangout, just like Happy Days or Grease.
i never had a pizza until i was 30, we did not have junk food!

In my travels purely by accident I've eaten at the first Pizza Hut (also in Wichita, and one of the "near misses" my dad bellyaches about. He had a chance to loan the Carneys startup money but at the time nobody thought a restaurant that only sold pizza could ever make it. For want of a couple grand I could be filthy rich right now. Thanks for nothing, pop.)
I also ate regularly at what used to be the White Castle spot, but it had been sold to some rinky dink that kept everything but the name.
In California I ate at the first McDonalds (for that area) which is still designed like a fifties diner.
Know something about nostalgia restaurants? food still sucks like normal.
