Prices continue to climb, service continues to suck & in August Saturday delivery will discontinued.
Responding to widespread dissatisfaction regarding the U.S. Postal Service’s newly announced plans to discontinue Saturday mail delivery service, Postmaster General Patrick R. Donahue told reporters this afternoon that the nation had better hold onto their dicks, because they’re going to absolutely lose their shit when they find out what the government agency has in store for Wednesdays. “You think limited weekend delivery is bad—you assholes don’t even know what’s coming,” said Donahue, adding that Americans will literally shit their pants when the USPS reveals its upcoming fucking insane changes to midweek delivery schedules. “I hate to say it, but you motherfuckers brought this on yourselves. Time and time again we gave you the chance to send letters and parcels via the U.S. Postal Service, but you told us to shove it up our asses, and now you’re fucked.” Donahue added that if Americans decide to finally nut up and mail some fucking letters, they know where the mailbox is.

The actual statement from USPS is not nearly as funny as The Onion's comments.
In a nutshell - come August snail mail will not be delivered on Saturday & their best guess is that it will save two billion dollars a year.

Well, I think we can still get packages on Saturdays.
remember the good old days, when all they did was unselfishly deliver the mail in any weather; then go back and shoot the place up....tsk tsk

The deal is they will not deliver mail to your house. The Offices will still be open to go in and pick up mail,as in a P.O Box and mail stuff, they just wont have it delived to your box at the house.

I have a friend who was a postal carrier but is now retired. He always hated to go to work on Mondays since there was always more mail since no deliveries on Sunday. Whenever a holiday was added to that Sunday, the back-up of mail was horrible. Employees had to work overtime; of course, they got paid for that overtime. Can't help but wonder now how much overtime will have to be paid nationwide since there will be no mail delivered on Saturdays....and can you just imagine adding extra holidays to the week-ends. How much will actually be saved in the long run?

Yes what a postal posting
The Post Office does a good job I've always been pleased with service but, having choices is cool!

I won't miss Saturday bills/junk mail (like every other day of the week). Ba-bye.

You're not alone, according to a USPS poll over 80% of Americans feel the same way.
