The Sandy Hook kids have returned to school.
Twenty days after the massacre that left 20 first graders and six adults dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, plunging a rural New England town and the nation into grief, classes resumed on Thursday for the more than 400 students who lived through the harrowing assault.
Across Newtown's sprawling Sandy Hook neighborhood where the December 14 attack took place, children bundled in heavy winter coats boarded buses decked in green and white ribbons, their school colors, for the seven-mile journey to their new school.
Chalk Hill Middle School, an unused school in the neighboring town of Monroe, was refurbished specifically for the students from Newtown, and now bears a new but familiar name - Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Students on packed buses waved at clusters of photographers and TV cameras gathered at street corners along the bus route. Heightened security measures meant media was kept well away, but from a small plane above the new school, children getting off buses were seen running, hopping and skipping through the doors.
A steady stream of parents' cars were seen pulling up to drop students off at the main entrance, where they were greeted by a dark-suited official.
Anca Roberto, 35, put her 5-year-old daughter, a kindergartner, on the bus not far from the old Sandy Hook school, which remains a bullet-riddled crime scene closed to everyone but police.
Roberto said she had been nervous about the return to school until Wednesday, when she and her daughter attended an open house at the new location. Her daughter was thrilled to find her cubby intact, moved from the old school, and she "screeched" when she saw her friends.
The students "hugged, and they played and they were just kids," Roberto said. "The teachers were just amazing."

Spoken like a true douchebag ( I stole that from Aussie). Anyone that commits these type of crimes has something a lot deeper going on than a stupid video game. These thoughts just stem from your Christian brainwashing, upbringing.
You don't see any validity at all in my questioning violent video games and their effect on young minds?
I'm simply trying to fathom how someone can round up 20 5 year-olds and mercilessly gun them down. How do they get to that point?
How about they're so desensitized from having killed so many 'individuals' in their video games, that they've finally brought it to real life??
I'm simply searching for answers.
I took this from The Hartford Courant, January 6 th:
Lanza's killing spree started earlier that morning at his home on Yogananda Street in Newtown, where he killed his mother with four shots to the head with a .223-caliber rifle while she slept. In searching the house, police discovered that Lanza had thousands of dollars worth of violent video games.
Before he left the house, Lanza destroyed the hard drive on his computer, which likely kept some of the records of what games he played and who he played with. It also destroyed any chance to see if he had a manifesto or had written down anything indicating that he planned the shootings or why he chose the elementary school.
As I suspected, a violent video game freak.

The police originally said they had collected a lot of "good" evidence and it sounded like they had a possible motive. Waiting to hear, folks!
It's amazing how we were saturated with news for days and now not much.

Do you all remember the older gentleman who found a few kids in his driveway the morning of the shooting? The kids told him they couldn't go back to school because their teacher was dead. He's now being trolled in a despicable manner. No good deed goes unpunished. Jesus Christ.
A good Samaritan who harbored six terrified survivors of the Sandy Hook massacre has been singled out by conspiracy theorists accusing him of being a liar and an actor.
On the morning of the shooting, Gene Rosen of Newtown, Conn., was feeding his cats when he discovered four terrified children hiding out in his driveway. They told him their teacher was dead, and he listened to their chilling account of the tragedy still going on at the nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School.
In the aftermath, Rosen, 69, was interviewed by many of the media outlets that descended on the small community, and his anguished face flashed across television screens around the world.
The sincerity of that anguish was questioned by a group of conspiracy theorists who call themselves "truthers," Salon reported earlier this month. These truthers have so far posted Rosen's personal information online, created fake social media accounts using his name and harassed him via email and phone.

I don't believe the story I'm about to post, I'm posting it to show the doubters that even mainstream media fabricates & pulls lies directly out of their ass.
Law enforcement sources say Adam Lanza was motivated by violent video games and a strong desire to kill more people than another infamous mass murderer.
Sources say Lanza saw himself as being in direct competition with Anders Breivik, a Norwegian man who killed 77 people in July 2011.
Two officials who have been briefed on the Newtown, Conn., investigation say Lanza wanted to top Breivik's death toll and targeted nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School because it was the "easiest target" with the "largest cluster of people."
Evidence shows that his mind, sources say, Lanza was also likely acting out the fantasies of a video game as he killed 20 first graders and six adults at the school. For Lanza, the deaths apparently amounted to some kind of "score."
Whatta crock of shit.
And to cover their ass...
In response to this piece, Lt. J. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police told CBS News that the investigation into the motive for the Newtown shooting has not been completed and therefore any statements about the shooter's intent are mere speculation.

That was a little more entertaining than the stupid fuckers who believe it was an undercover government operation.

Most of the time it's very easy to laugh at those people but anytime I take more than a moment to think about "those people" I get concerned. They vote, they drive, they breed.

The breeding is the one that scares me the most.

Why is this 'speculation' so hard to accept?

Are you serious?
They are presenting opinions as fact. This is supposed to be a legitimate media organization, CBS News. That's not legitimate reporting, not by any stretch of the imagination.

So, you're more upset by the speculation from a legitimate news organization presenting it as fact, than the possibility that the speculation is true?
If that's so, I understand your outrage.
I do believe that this 'speculation' probably has quite a bit of truth to it, but the police just haven't released their final report yet.
Lanza was mentally unhinged, I think we can all agree on that. If he was obsessed with Breivik, that wouldn't shock me at all.
I hope the police report confirms a couple of things: 1) Did Lanza have an altercation the day before at the elementary school with staff? This could certainly prove that he was casing the place prior to the attack. 2) Did he try to purchase weapons on his own a few days before the slaughter? Who would then get notified when a 20 year old tries to buy weapons, and would there be any reason to find fault with someone who didn't notify authorities?

Good questions MS.
But I don't agree with any media outlet that attempts to legitimize sensationalism of an assumption. I don’t buy the whole video game violence explanation either.

Yeah and it bothered me enough that I now view them as I do the Daily Mail & Fox News.

Here's my opinion on video games, particularly violent ones:
If you're mentally stable, violent video games are not going to 'turn' you to violence necessarily.
If you're mentally UNstable, I think hours and hours, weeks and weeks and months and months of playing them could desensitize you to the point where the line between fantasy and reality becomes blurred.
Throw in a few traumatic events like parents divorcing, being kicked out of school and considered a social outcast, and the recipe is there for disaster.
All that's missing are the actual weapons and ammunition.
