Woman On Trial For Cutting Off Husband’s Penis

Back in 2011, we reported on 51-year-old Catherine Kieu, the woman who cut off her husband’s penis with a kitchen knife, then ran the thing through a garbage disposal.Now that she is on trial , more details have been released on what happened that day. The couple had filed for divorce but were still living together, and the prosecution told the court that Kieu was jealous that her husband had started seeing an ex-girlfriend. So, on July 11 2011, Kieu decided to get back at her husband.
First she laced his dinner Ambien. After eating the meal, the man felt groggy and went to bed. When he woke up, still feeling groggy, he found that Kieu had tied him up with rope. Unable to do anything, he watched in helpless horror as Kieu pulled down his shorts and used a 10-inch kitchen knife to slice off his penis with on swipe.
“I felt a very sharp pain and she had cut my penis off and then threw it on the carpet next to the bed,” the man testified in court.
Audio of this horrific act was caught on a voice-activated recorder the man had hidden in the bedroom. In it, you can hear Kieu yelling “you deserve it” three times before picking up the severed penis and then running it through the garbage disposal, which can be heard being being turned on.
Kieu placed a towel of her husband’s groin, which was bleeding profusely, then dialed 911. She was nice enough to hold the phone her husband’s ear so he could speak to the dispatcher. “She didn’t want me dead,” the man said.
He was rushed to UCI Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery. Sadly, his penis was too mangled to be re-attached to his body and the surgery was just to ensure he could piss. Personally, I don’t care if my dick looked like a wad of chewed bubble gum, I’d rather have that than nothing at all. Fucking staple it on, I don’t care.
Facing a conviction of aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, administering a drug with intent to commit a felony, poisoning and spousal abuse, Kienu’s public defender told jurors that Kieu’s traumatic childhood in war-torn Vietnam meant she was mentally ill during the attack and cannot be convicted on the mayhem and torture charges.
If convicted, Catherine Kieu faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The trial is expected to last two weeks.
“She murdered me that night,” the man testified. “`The healing process may never be completely finished. My mental state is improving, but it may never be what it was before.”

Today, jurors found Kieu guilty of torture and aggravated mayhem for the July 11, 2011 attack on her husband.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 28.
