There are a lot of stoners here that would disagree with that statement.

I'm looking forward to the evidence in this case. There's so much speculation; I hope one side or the other can convince me of their story beyond a reasonable doubt.

I take back the statement that EVERYONE is, but some are. Smiley_emoticons_smile

Would zimmermans actions have been the same if Trayvon had been white? Thats not playing the race card that's a pertinent question that needs to be asked and answered.

I believe that if a white guy had a black hoodie on walking around, its possible. I think the hoodie covering his face was a big factor. IMO

Hoodies are fashionable I wear hoodies and it would be nice to know I could wear them in peace without worrying about some amateur rent-a-cop stalking me like a deer and putting a cap in my ass.

I, as well wear hoodies, and my child. The problem being that people like this regardless eventually would have hurt someone with their wanna be attitude.

It was stated he tried to become a cop at one point.

Again, I am on neither side of this case. I see both points at this time. JUST HATE the parents and the race card issue.

If the white guy was beating Zimmerman's ass like Martin was, I'd say that yes, his action of shooting would have been the same.

From the evidence disclosed, it doesn't appear Zimmerman knew for certain Martin was definitely black until Martin started walking towards him. IIRC it was the dispatcher who inquired as to the race of the person.

Wasn't it raining that night?

It was raining, which Zimmerman also mentioned in his 9-1-1 call:

Zimmerman: Hey, we've had some break-ins in my neighborhood, and there's a real suspicious guy, uh, [near] Retreat View Circle. Um, the best address I can give you is 111 Retreat View Circle. This guy looks like he's up to no good, or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about.

Why?

I was shocked at the strong opinion about him, I guess is the correct way of saying it. Defending him.

I have always been skeptical of this case. The bias of the first pictures of Martin that came out, he was a 12 year old child. The parents saying it was a racial crime. The comments about Martin being in the wrong crowd, how he was at his fathers for a reason.

I looked back at evidence pictures, and in those photos it looks like it was raining at the time of the photos.

I asked if it was raining that night (I thought I had read that it was) because a number of people have commented on the hoodie. I think it's only natural that it would be up but as a person who often wears a hoodie I'll wear the hood up just because...

T's pix had nothing to do with how I view any of this. I've thought from the very beginning that George is the initial aggressor & if T backtracked and confronted George I don't have a problem with that, don't have a problem with T taking a swing at that fat fuck either. My feeling is that George was playing cop and when confronted by T got scared and instead of fighting like a man he pulled a gun and shot the kid.

Don't read too much into me calling him a kid, I look at all young people that age as kids.

Like I said before, I am not a fan of this case. OR either parties. This case IMO would get the attention is needs if the race card was not played immediately.

Then it turned into a child was killed, then this and that. It just spiraled out of control after that, instead of an aggressive man confronted a teenage male and the teenager was killed in the confrontation.

The whole HOODIE thing, I never understood. The Hoodie march, all the stupid speeches, etc.

He was a kid, he was 17. Is there even any proof that Martin walked towards Zimmerman and confronted him? I quit following this thread about 100 pages ago so I don't know. But the last I read it did sound like George was the aggressor, most likely was the one to confront Martin and pulled a gun when he was losing the fight. What has changed? Wasn't there something about a phone call to the girlfriend too where Martin told her some guy is following him and he's trying to get away from him?

You're pretty much up to date! Same arguments/different day. I have always felt like George was the aggressor in this situation by stalking T and failing to identify himself. I'm just hoping the evidence will prove it.

I only commented on the "kid" part because some people had given me some shit about calling him a kid given his size and his age. I think they wanted me to call him a young man. 78

I can't even recall who "they" is now.

My son is only 2 years younger, but he's 6'1 175 lbs. I wouldn't call him a grown man either. I also have a picture of him flipping his middle finger, I guess that makes him a thug too.

The girlfriend, DeeDee, has credibility problems now; claiming that she was 16 when she was 18 and lying when she said that the reason she didn't attend Trayvon's funeral was because she was in the hospital. These lies are now on record.

So, whatever she says that Travyon told her on the the phone could be subject to doubt by the jurors.

I don't know if she was just scared/confused or being led to lie by someone else, but she also seems very slow-minded.

I think O'Mara will rip her to shreds on cross examination. If so, it's a blow to the state's case because there were no other eye or ear witnesses before the shooting, except the 911 operator and George Zimmerman.

Zimmerman also now has on-the-record credibility problems because, per his jailhouse direction, his wife lied under oath about their financial assets/donations during his bond hearing. She's being prosecuted for perjury.

So, hoping the forensic evidence and time line can be pieced together to tell the story of what actually happened that night.

It doesn't matter if George was the aggressor. The Florida law is clear on that issue.

You can all hate George all you want, but the law - and physical evidence - is on his side.

True, someone kicking your ass and you can say you in fear for your life all you got to do is say so. Even if you started the fight.

Do you think that's why Zimmerman didn't simply testify at a Stand Your Ground immunity hearing, Six? Over 70% of the time, immunity from prosecution is granted in those cases.

Do you think that George is lying about standing his ground against attack, as he claims now? Do you think that self defense instead applies because George will claim at trial that he was in fear for his life after he started a losing fight with the 17 year old and be covered by self defense?

Just curious.
