Liz and I are taking a week cruise, pulling out of the San Diego harbor on Saturday- going to Mexico.
Any hints and suggestions on what to do and what not to do?

Any hints and suggestions on what to do and what not to do? Don't know anything about the West coast of Mexico. But on the East coast of Mexico and throughout the Caribbean, I can tell you some fun stuff that does not cost a ton of money. Get a spring suit, snorkel mask, a fanny pack, and a ton of large milk bone dog biscuits. Just float on your stomach and feed the buscuits to the fish. The biscuits need to be soggy; so put them in the fanny pack but leave the zipper open a little. You can get a cheap underwater camera and take amazing pictures. If money is not an issue; then at each stop the cruise ship will give you a list of excursions. They usually have you sign up the day before in one of the central areas of the ship.

I like that first suggestion and can't wait to see the expression on the custom's agent face as he searches our luggage and finds milk bones and dog biscuits tucked away with snorkels and fins. Regarding the second tip, I heard it is cheaper to book excursions on shore, in Mexico rather than on ship as it is cheaper.

Correct - the excursions are cheaper on shore; but the ones from the ship are negotiated to be of a certain minimum quality. It's hit or miss on shore.

True.
I'd hate to pay for a horseback riding adventure and pull up to a couple of donkeys painted like zebras. Best to book on ship. ::thumbs::

Or just have a duffel with your 3mm springsuits, snorkel gear, biscuits, fins, a fanny pack, and some towels. Also, I recently saw a snorkel mask that actually has an underwater digital camera built into it. Not that expensive either; and I think it was 4 or 5 megapixels.

We've gone snorkeling in Hawaii but never thought about doing so in Mexico.
I suppose if I take a couple of photos I could post them in the "funny shit" forum as the built-in camera/snorkel; fins get-up will even get the Mexican fish mocking me.
I take it the towels are to cover our faces as we exit the water?

Getting sick and spackling the inside of multiple toilet bowls with brown liquid ooze should be half the fun of going Mexico. No?

So, the local taco vendor pushing her broken down cart with five children under the age of six in tow... no good?

or you could do the fanny pack idea mentioned above but fill it with bloody chum and fish parts and then float around until a fucking shark bites you in half and you fucking die.

Are there sharks at sand bar distances at the local beaches? I never saw anything more menacing than a baracuda or two.

I did use the word, " Liquid" three posts above yours, so I had that coming.

And make sure you wait untill you get in the water to put the fanny pack on. Walking around in Mexico like a gay tourist with a fanny pack full of fish parts and dog bisquits will get you shanked.

On my globe the Gulf of Mexico is not connected to the port of San Diego, where he is boarding. You might wanna check that globe you have, Magellan. I'm thinking his cruise is going to places like Cabo San Lucas and Acapulco.

I read his initial post incorrectly and missed where he was leaving from. Either way I still HOPE a shark would find him and eat his fucking Jesus loving ass.
