What happened to “keep God out of my kids school and l'll keep science out of your church”?
I don't know. I never said that or felt that way.

"Under God" has only been in the pledge since the 1950's. Before that it was simply one nation indivisible...as it should have been.

Oh really?
You want scientists coming into your church with carbon dated proof that the bible is bollocks?
I don't think so.

I'm Catholic but I'm not devout. I keep my own counsel with God. It's mine & mine alone.
I bet if you had kids they would be in a private school.

No I don't. I do however think that schools should reach about different cultures and religions. Teach about them. Not preach about them.

I don't recall learning about other religions in school.

Yeah I agree.
Teach as long as you don't preach.

That's because you went to a faith school and a faith schools mission is to brainwash a mind not broaden it.

It worked. I'm scared that one day the old man sitting on the cloud is going to throw a lightening bolt at me.
Did you know my ban hammer is accompanied by a massive lightening bolt? I don't like to use it & I don't very much but when I do I marvel at that lightening strike.

My daughter was taught about Christianity in elementary school alongside Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Sikhism.
Knowledge is power, why would you not want your kids to learn about other religions?
I don't understand why you would object?
I don't object to them learning about religion, in fact I think it's very interesting, but I think it should be an elective in middle and high school when they can fully grasp it. Not forced on them in elementary.
They can't even manage to teach the kids how to write in cursive over here anymore, the last thing we need is to start introducing religious studies.

My daughter fully grasped it it was pretty straightforward stuff.
It gives her the added bonus of not having to stare at someone because they are wearing a silly religious hat.
I didn't see a single dark skinned person until I was two years old, I was taken to see a doctor who was a dark skinned Pakistani and when I saw him I pointed at his face and said “black?!”.
