When she gets pregnant and it's unplanned or unwanted, however you want to term it, whose fault is it?
I have a firm belief in this - I think it's her fault. It's her body and she's responsible for it, not him. No female anywhere should be leaving birth control up to the man.

Tough one, Duchess. I think mainly hers, because, as you said, her body, and her choice whether or not she wants to let him in without a raincoat. For disease prevention, if nothing else.
I think it is about 70-30 on her. HE needs to take some responsibility as well. He, also, needs to know the consequenses of what they are doing.

I agree with both of you. Since its the woman that gets pregnant and is stuck dealing with the whole mess. Men should be responsible. But for me, I would never leave it up to someone else when it affects me to such an extreme.

Both parents ought to be legally responsible, but like it or not the female takes all the risks physically and should carry more of the burden. But the other side of that coin if you're a man is, don't just take her word for it. More than one girl has tried to keep a man by "accidentally" getting preggers. I don't see any problem with asking for testing either if there's a question.
Just not on the fucking Maury show.

Yup. Someone tried to do that with one of my brothers. Thank God he went to our Dad and spilled his guts. He was scared spitless & it turned out to be a huge learning experience for him.

My son knocked up his girlfriend. Baby boy to be born in February. He knocked her up.
It's his fault.

Dono has a good point. If you don't want a baby or responsibility for a baby both people ought to protect themselves.
You guys just reminded me of something I did that was pretty fucking rotten when I was a kid (in hindsight). Shit. All these years later and I'm just realizing how fucked up it was.

Rarely does anyone agree with me about this. Bah. I stand by my statement, it's all on her.

I agree with you Duchess as far as a girl needs to protect herself. If she doesn't want to get pregnant, use protection. Every time. But guys need to watch out for themselves as well. If the girl is careless, he could be screwed. It really boils down to if you don't want a baby, protect yourself. Male or female.

Precisely. It's all about personal responsibility to me.

Another thing that occurred to me...you're in a long term relationship. You no longer feel the need to protect against STD's so no condoms as the lady is on the pill. She gets lazy or distracted or stressed and forgets to take it. She gets pregnant...discuss.

It takes an egg and sperm to make a baby, just because the woman has to carry it doesn't make it any less the man's responsibility. That would be like saying STD's are the women's fault. STD's, babies, they both equally suck.

I did my utmost to instill in my daughters that they would be the one who cops the rough end of the stick if the monkey dance was done without any kind of protection. Along with the very real chance of catching something they don't want.
I also gave them plenty of examples of what shit boys their age would try on to not have to wear that rubber, or to get it on without any protection..."it doesn't feel right, it's like having a shower in a raincoat, don't you love me?, I'll pull out; it'll be ok, I'm clean, I'll just put it in for a second, don't be a fucking pricktease, blah blah"
I think they were both shocked a little that I spoke so frank with them, or maybe they had the sudden realisation that I was a teenage boy once..haha!
Everyone should protect themself first, then worry about the other one..

That's good parenting, Crash. Teenage girls need to know that stuff. Having been one (a teenage girl) I heard all that crap and more.
"Just this one time pleeeaaase..". "Nothing's going to happen...". "Have I told you how hot you are? Oh baby...I'm dying....pleeeeeaaaase". "I want you soooo bad...I love you! Pleeeease"?
Until around the age of at least 23, young men are often a damn menace to society. I read somewhere they think about sex at least once every 10 seconds or something. Young women definitely need to protect themselves. Some of these guys can't think beyond their immediate hard-on for.sure.

I know, what the hell is wrong with them. The first time I went on a date (if that's what you want to call it) with my husband at the age of 16 the only thing on his mind was sex. He got me to go to his house and he couldn't keep his hands off me, even after I told him I hardly knew him and didn't really feel comfortable having sex. I don't even know why I married the perverted bastard.

What rubbish!
39 at least!!
And then you have those boys who spend their entire life in England and come to Bangkok in their 60's. Now that's another sight to behold.
