Sad news about O'Toole and Laughlin - though they both lived long lives - 81 and 82 respectively.
I don't know much about O'Toole other than Lawrence of Arabia.
The Billy Jack movies bring back a lot of good memories at the drive-in as a kid.
They were ground-breaking at the time and still a good watch today.
RIP gentlemen...

So User, Tiki and Zero all have a point. Now you all need to add another name/update your lists.

The Rev. Graham appears to be stabilized, for now. I think it's just user and Zero tied for the lead.

Billy's kinda selfish, ain't he?
I'm hoping to see Tiki back here before the holidays and it would be nice for her to have a point waiting.
But, does Billy give a shit?...nooooo.

I liked what I saw/heard of this actor.
He had a great voice and did a lot of voice characters for animated features. He was a script writer for PBS and a poet before scoring his most famous role as Uncle Phil on Fresh Prince of Bel Air which ran from 1990 to 1996.
James Avery died yesterday of complications from open heart surgery at 68. RIP.

Me too.
I like the Everly Brothers a lot, as well. So smooth.
Phil Everly died at the age of 74 yesterday from complications resulting from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Phil and Don Everly had an enormous influence on John Lennon and Paul McCartney, The Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkle, The Byrds, etc..
Among their hits -- "Bye Bye Love," "When Will I Be Loved" and "All I Have to Do Is Dream", "Cathy's Clown"...
Phil is the lighter-haired one on the left. RIP Phil Everly...

Oh, yeah. In a residential area, no less.
Yesterday, the LA County Coroner released the latest report.
The Los Angeles County Coroner released a new autopsy report Friday, Jan. 3, detailing how speed was the main cause of the crash of the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT that resulted in the deaths of Walker and his friend Roger Rodas. The vehicle traveled more than 100 mph before Rodas lost control, hit a tree, hit a light post, spun around and hit another tree before the vehicle burst into flames on Nov. 30 in Santa Clarita, Calif.
"It appeared that the vehicle was almost split in half," the report revealed, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Walker and Rodas' bodies were in the "pugilistic" stance, the Times noted. Walker's injuries were so bad that he could not be identified visually and was not a candidate for tissue donation. Rodas suffered a skull fracture and his brain was exposed, the report stated.

Neither of them were under the influence of drink or drugs which makes a change.
Speed kills though.

I had to look up "pugilistic stance", never heard the term before.
It's a defense position indicating that Walker had braced for impact in the passenger's seat. He had right wrist and left arm fractures, not surprisingly when bracing yourself and crashing at 100 mph. That's fast on an express way, not to mention a residential area. It's fortunate no one else was killed by the speed demons.

That's not the first time I've had to look up something I've read in here.

The “pugilistic stance” is just a natural human instinct to brace for impact if you can see it coming. When I was in a bad coach crash in Greece I didn't see it coming so I headbutted the seat in front of me instead of bracing with my arms up.

Hall of Fame broadcaster Jerry Coleman, a former second baseman for the New York Yankees who interrupted his pro career to fly as a Marine Corps pilot in World War II and Korea, died Sunday after a brief illness, the San Diego Padres said. He was 89.
Coleman spent more than four decades with the San Diego Padres as a broadcaster. He managed the team in 1980.
He was truly an interesting and heroic man. More about his life here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/05...46422.html

Former Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, passed away today.
I almost picked him for my death list, seriously, dang it. He's been in a coma for years following a severe stroke.
Sharon was a farmer-turned-soldier, a soldier-turned-politician, a politician-turned-statesman — a hard-charging Israeli who built Jewish settlements on war-won land, but didn't shy away from destroying them when he deemed them no longer useful.
He was 85.
