DO YOU DATE?
#21

Just thinking about dating makes me feel apprehensive and like something I don't want to do. I'd rather suddenly realize that I wanted to hook up with a friend, someone I've known for awhile. Going out on a date with someone I know, like & have fun with sounds lovely though.

For them.

Yeah, well sometimes you don't have to "tell" someone for them to figure it out for themselves and go Run1 was the point.

No, that's not a date but it could turn into one if it were a very good ten minutes.

I can relate to this. The whole thought of going out on a "date" is nerve wracking. It just turns me off. Hanging out with someone I like sounds cool and easy. I wouldn't just go on some date with some guy randomly anyway. The whole concept is foreign to me.

Word. I'd rather go out with a group of people and if I click with a guy so be it. The one on one thing stinks.

IDK about the elevator.

But coffee dates, lunch dates, dinner dates, drink dates, movie dates… I think they can all be fun, or boring, or awkward – depends on how it goes. That’s the point, up front, for me.

I’m not extremely sociable so never was a prolific dater, but I’ve gone on dates with men whom I’ve met at parties, an event, or from mutual friends.

If there was a spark or interest, then going on a date one-on-one , where you can listen and ask questions and relax, was the best way to get to know each other and see if there was any real connection there before diving into something based only on group or public interaction.

My bullshit meter typically works fine, so I don’t mind if someone impresses me, or not, whether they’re trying, or not - in any context. In regards to dates, sometimes things progressed and sometimes I realized that it wasn’t a man with whom I wanted to get closer. Never regretted a date.

My first date with someone whom I'm still dating years later (and who still impresses me without effort) was over coffee.

I imagine you as someone who still takes your wife on dates, Maggot.

Yeah we have actually met up at places and acted like we did not know each other for a little bit, then I would give the waitress a note to deliver to ask if she would join me.............a silly little game but fun.

That sounds like the right kind of silly fun to keep a marriage alive.

Never stop dating your wife. Never stop rigging those elevators to the restaurant/bar (just make sure to pick ones that don't have surveillance cams, well...unless you like an audience). Smiley_emoticons_smile
