Do you think you'd know if a neighbor was a monster? Monster could be defined a few ways, beating their kids, beating their wife, animal abuse, stuff like that. Living in a nice neighborhood doesn't preclude someone from being an awful person as we all know.

Have you ever had the neighbor from Hell? Been one?

I've lived next to some real sons of bitches, but unfortunately for them they could say the same. There are ways to get people to move.

I would never know unless they did something really nutty. That in itself might lead a person on the edge into some pill induced euphoria. I on the other hand might just walk over and ask why they have blood stained clothes on.

I had a neighbor here that was a drug when he was in high school and never got over it, 50 and still dealing dope, had a kid that had serious racial identity issues. All the little asshole hung out over there, broke into peoples cars, stole shit and in general were a pain in the ass. Don't know how many times I would wake up middle of the night and cop cars all over the place, several stories there.He eventually got his leg shot off and the bank took the house. Some NY gay guys bought the the house and completely redid it, nice and quiet here now.
I had to threaten to burn the kids car to the ground and bury him in the canal if the BS didn't stop. Magically, the BS stopped, a year later Kenny got shot, he is in some half way house now I think.

The neighbours around here are all really friendly and we all visit one another etc. There is none of that here. It depends on what sort of an area you live in. One place I lived in years ago, this girl (she was a druggie) had a dog it had a litter of puppies and she took off and just left them inside. They were yelping really loudly and the mother dog was wandering around outside howling too. I called the police and they broke in and rescued the dogs. That was so bad. Glad I am not there, she ended up getting evicted for a heap of other stuff I think.

Aussi, I don't think it does matter what sort of place you live. My neighborhood is a very nice area on the water, this asshole was 2 doors away.

I am not saying that. I am saying that the area that I am living in now is starkly different to where I have lived before. My next door neighbour is a christian and we have attended their church a couple of times and have a good relationship. We help each other out when necessary. Same with neighbour next door up. Neighbours across the road two doors up had a loud boisterous drunken party last week, it was annoying and loud and kind of echo'ed in our street. But no one called the police or anything, because it is not something that happens all the time it is very rare.

Addit: Before my next door neighbour bought their house, they had renters in and there were these two little teenage shits that lived there that would run their skateboard up and down the driveway, which was very loud and even sounded a bit aggressive, it was 9pm, and I was trying to put my child to sleep. I called out to the adult in the house (it was an all male household) and just asked if he could ask them to stop as I was trying to put my child to sleep. He agreed, but was not happy.

I've lived on this small cul-de-sac for the past 15 years and most of my neighbors have too so it's kind of hard not to get to know them a little bit. I'm not best friends with them or anything and you never know what people do behind closed doors, but they're all friendly and seem like decent people. Other than the lady who has two loser sons my age that occasionally live with her everyone on this street is cool.

I've had some fucked up neighbors in the past like the weirdo who drained his pool into my yard and killed my tree and grass, but that was about the worst. The guy was a total douche bag, I wouldn't be surprised if he molested his cats.

I wonder if the people that lived next door to Thing 2's K teacher knew that he was molesting his students.

Doubtful. Many times people don't want to believe what they see, they find a way to justify it.
