I'm designing a banner for a website I am working on and want to do a glowing outline/highlight of a car but can't figure out the best way to go about it. To get an idea of what I'm wanting to do, check out this Infiniti commercial at 0:22 - 0:23.

If you can figure it out will you let me know? I'm gonna mess around awhile and see if I can get it.

I would think you could make just a cut out of the car its own layer and then apply blending options to it, adding outter glow border action with the effect menu.
Also, you might want to use a normal link for your item above.

1) is the banner static and not animated.
2) if static then MF is giving good direction. The easiest way would be to carefully cut out the car so it is it's own layer
3) pull that layer onto your banner file and then you can simply apply a filter (filter-->artisitic-->neon glow) and play with the levels to get the effect you want.
4) you could also play with strokes, shadow, and outer glow levels of the layer
what I suggest are some easy options. there are more advanced ways, but without seeing what you are trying to do I would suggest trying the options above.
hope that helps

It is static. I hadn't thought about trying the neon glow. I did cut out the car and started playing around with strokes and outer glow and have got something somewhat close. With a few more layers I may be able to get something.

I don't know, I can't decide how I want to do this or what. This is what I did with some neon glow and stroke.

Actually, I talked to the site owner and she didn't like the idea, she wanted something a little more "cartoony-looking, but realistic" in her words. So I decided to do a vector car instead. Its also going to be used as an intro page graphic instead of a banner so I decided to make it "purty".

Thats my screen name on every other forum I'm on and I was so busy with actual paying projects yesterday that I didn't take the time to change it for this one. I also didn't know if I wanted to change it or not.

That makes sense since you are one twisted motherfucker. ::lmao::
Thanks for the info. I am alwayscurious about shit like that.
Its an evolved nickname. It started off as Twistedquadracer when I was a kid. I used to race quads (four-wheelers to some) in the U.S. ProAm circuit and got in a wicked wreck when I was 14 where my bike landed on both my legs shattering a kneecap and other injuries. I didn't know it at the time and got up, hobbled to my wrecked bike and finished the race. And they said I was one twisted motherfucker. It gradually shortened to Twisted Racer as I switched to drags and circle track and now its just Twist.
