I wasn't at all surprised to learn that so many joining ISIS are young, poor and uneducated. They must get an immense sense of power being able to take from those who have earned all they have, they are typical bullies, they use fear and intimidation.

I think it must be like when gangs recruit their new members; they try to make you feel wanted, and give you a warm, fuzzy feeling. After dropping out of school and being kicked out of the house, someone is paying attention to you, sticking a rifle in your hand and giving you money and thus, a feel of power for the first time in their drab, dreary lives. Probably a bunch of sociopaths and psychopaths who find each other. They learn to love the smell of blood, torture, and killing....Wow, someone is finally noticing me and aren't we all having loads of fun....in out trucks/SUV's, turbans, black robes (can change to camo at times depending on mood), masks, facial hair, we really look menacing, we will teach everyone to fear us...Religion, what religion? We kill for any reason.....

So yes, I fully understand them. Especially since I'm living the right opposite!

I hear ya and I can understand pushing for immigration reform and rallying against the Islamization of Germany (or wherever) -- completely agree that immigrants should not expect the laws in their new land to be changed for them, nor should they expect citizens to conform to best suit expectations they've carried from their home lands.

There needs to be a better balance in the US (and Germany, it seems) between welcoming diversity and encouraging/rewarding anti-assimilation, in my opinion. I really like having people of various cultural backgrounds and ethnicities living all around me and wouldn't want to see that thwarted. But I don't support handing immigrants a free business just for showing up, or establishing Sharia courts here or anything like that.

If I ever start flirting with MS or Clang please shoot me in the head.

You told Clang that you'd suck his dick if it was covered in olive oil. And, you've said many times that Mo is at the top of your Mock Fuck Chain.

I don't remember you teasing or flirting with MS like that, but declaring that Mo is at the top of everybody elses' fuck chain too, several times, is very MS-esque of you and could at least be considered flattering to MS.

I don't have a gun though -- so your head's safe.

I started my day all grumpy and ready to punch someone in the face, and now all of a sudden I am all moist inside. Soft and squidgy. Well, me and Sal don't have to do anything so openly, we simply just .... know. Smiley_emoticons_smile

Actually they do eat a shitload of Hot Dogs over here, have huge amounts of them in the freezers that are made in Saudi, but they are all beef or chicken and totally and utterly suck.

Anonymous rocks! This morning they were actually showing on the news that one of the latest weapons against Dish Dash in Iraq and with the Kurds is .... comedy. They taking the shit out of them on TV and it looked truly funny.

Anyway, here all is quiet, the UK Embassy has evacuated, which is a rare thing to happen but I believe is because they just want to show solidarity towards the UN plus looking forward to getting pissed in Dubai for a nice R&R, the Dutch are also contemplating, which is a very rare occurrence, and the only reason I see is that our dear friend the Ambassador wants to be part of the party with the Brits at the Blue Marlin Club in Dubai.

We Germans are still cool however, as the brother of the Super Hooter, is actually residing in Frankfurt. Just found out recently and I got to make sure next time I'm home I'll take him out for some Appelwoi and Pork Knuckles!

Otherwise all tranquil in the dust bowl. Blueberry, there's a friends birthday today and I shall think of you as I drink myself wildly across the bar. And Sal of course, always think about ... Sal, especially when your throat is burning and your lips are all frozen and moist. Smiley_emoticons_smile

Mo, strange, that I always pick up on what you are drinking and eating.. Chilled Riesling wine, is my favorite wine at the moment. My great grandfather came to U.S from Germany....I want to know why there are not more German restaurants anymore. I do like German food.
I think Sal's throat is burning is because she said she had esophagus cancer or some kind of cancer....My favorite part of living is dining and wining....

Hey! 119

You know, your quoting malfunctions might be more distracting than sally and I jabbing each other about olive oil and bread sticks anyway, Miss.

But, here's an on-topic bit for ya, blueberry. It surprised me. Jordan has just deployed thousands of ground troops to the Iraqi border in its latest move to counter the advance of the Islamic State group. They're moving and ramping up quickly, taking action in both Syria (by air) and now Iraq.

Snip:
The Jordanian source says the troops will likely stay on their side of the border in a defensive posture, for now, and will not enter Iraq without approval from the Iraqi government.

However, on the other side of the border, the head of the U.S.-led coalition against ISIS, retired Marine Gen. John Allen told Jordan's official Petra news agency, “there will be a major counteroffensive on the ground in Iraq” shortly.

Coalition firepower would support the Iraq-led offensive, he added.

Not really, Muhammad, Kid, big difference.

And no, Sally's throat problems have nothing to do with some silly cancer but started after watching too much deep throat porn. She can be rather competitive when she wants to!

Anyway, now here is something that left me feeling kinda quirky this morning. First time in my life this actually happened.

Last night we had a small get together for a birthday party with our dear friends, when suddenly all phones went nuts. The US Embassy here in Sana'a is gone. And not like the Brits or others who are following suite to show some solidarity I guess, and said they will close temporarily, so they still have some guards and basic staff in their Embassies, but they actually all left last night.

Now what that means is this. They had about 150 American Staff there, it is a huge compound, and they had a large project in that compound going on where they build apartment blocks. My best guess is that it cost them about 40 million US$. The current structures are massive. When they took over the Sheraton they pumped in a good 20 million US$ to renovate it. All of that is utterly empty right now and the furniture and everything else that can be moved is being distributed as I am typing by the wonderful Hooters. 25 cars that came back from the airport have all been taken.

Overnight that large area that was occupied by the US here is a ghost town. To me, knowing it so well, it is simply unreal.

One thing for sure, they are gone for good!

Now this could mean 2 things. They are gone and I am extremely curious of what's gonna happen next, or, they will be back, as they usually do, but this time just different.

Well, I have only Yemen's motto in my head. We'll see!

Seriously .... unreal.

US President Obama has submitted a Joint Resolution for Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) against the Islamic State group to Congress.

He's already, of course, personally authorized US airstrikes and military consultation in Iraq and Syria, but believes it would be beneficial for the Congress to officially sign off on US engagement moving forward.

The Joint Resolution calls for 3 year authorization to provide defensive support to fight IS(IL/IS) and does not specify geographical limits on where such engagement may occur.

Source: JOINT RESOLUTION, below
To authorize the limited use of the United States Armed Forces against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. *** Whereas the terrorist organization that has referred to itself as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and various other names (in this resolution referred to as ‘‘ISIL’’) poses a grave threat to the people and territorial integrity of Iraq and Syria, regional stability, and the national security interests of the United States and its allies and partners; Whereas ISIL holds significant territory in Iraq and Syria and has stated its intention to seize more territory and demonstrated the capability to do so; Whereas ISIL leaders have stated that they intend to conduct terrorist attacks internationally, including against the United States, its citizens, and interests; Whereas ISIL has committed despicable acts of violence and mass executions against Muslims, regardless of sect, who do not subscribe to ISIL’s depraved, violent, and oppressive ideology; Whereas ISIL has threatened genocide and committed vicious acts of violence against religious and ethnic minority groups, including Iraqi Christian, Yezidi, and Turkmen populations; Whereas ISIL has targeted innocent women and girls with horrific acts of violence, including abduction, enslavement, torture, rape, and forced marriage; Whereas ISIL is responsible for the deaths of innocent United States citizens, including James Foley, Steven Sotloff, Abdul-Rahman Peter Kassig, and Kayla Mueller; Whereas the United States is working with regional and global allies and partners to degrade and defeat ISIL, to cut off its funding, to stop the flow of foreign fighters to its ranks, and to support local communities as they reject ISIL; Whereas the announcement of the anti-ISIL Coalition on September 5, 2014, during the NATO Summit in Wales, stated that ISIL poses a serious threat and should be countered by a broad international coalition; Whereas the United States calls on its allies and partners, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa that have not already done so to join and participate in the anti-ISIL Coalition; Whereas the United States has taken military action against ISIL in accordance with its inherent right of individual and collective self-defense;

2

Whereas President Obama has repeatedly expressed his commitment to working with Congress to pass a bipartisan authorization for the use of military force for the anti-ISIL military campaign; and Whereas President Obama has made clear that in this campaign it is more effective to use our unique capabilities in support of partners on the ground instead of large-scale deployments of U.S. ground forces: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
That SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This joint resolution may be cited as the “Authorization for Use of Military Force against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.” SEC. 2. AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES. (a) AUTHORIZATION.—The President is authorized, subject to the limitations in subsection ©, to use the Armed Forces of the United States as the President determines to be necessary and appropriate against ISIL or associated persons or forces as defined in section 5. (b) WAR POWERS RESOLUTION REQUIREMENTS.— (1) SPECIFIC STATUTORY AUTHORIZATION.—Consistent with section 8(a)(1) of the War Powers Resolution (50 U.S.C. 1547(a)(1)), Congress declares that this section is intended to constitute specific statutory authorization within the meaning of section 5(b) of the War Powers Resolution (50 U.S.C. 1544(b)). (2) APPLICABILITY OF OTHER REQUIREMENTS.—Nothing in this resolution supersedes any requirement of the War Powers Resolution (50 U.S.C. 1541 et seq.). © LIMITATIONS.— The authority granted in subsection (a) does not authorize the use of the United States Armed Forces in enduring offensive ground combat operations. SEC. 3. DURATION OF THIS AUTHORIZATION. This authorization for the use of military force shall terminate three years after the date of the enactment of this joint resolution, unless reauthorized. SEC. 4. REPORTS.

3

The President shall report to Congress at least once every six months on specific actions taken pursuant to this authorization. SEC. 5. ASSOCIATED PERSONS OR FORCES DEFINED. In this joint resolution, the term ‘‘associated persons or forces’’ means individuals and organizations fighting for, on behalf of, or alongside ISIL or any closely-related successor entity in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners. SEC. 6. REPEAL OF AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF MILITARY FORCE AGAINST IRAQ. The Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107–243; 116 Stat. 1498; 50 U.S.C. 1541 note) is hereby repealed.

I'm pretty sure they would love to get their filthy hands on an American soldier. They'll make another beautifully produced film of the gruesome way he dies at the hands of those savages.

The other day I was talking to someone about the pilot's death and this person mentioned the symbolism of the fire and then the sand and debris that was dropped on him. She said it was akin to what the US and other countries do to them with our bombs.

I don't think it is either and I was stunned when she said it. I think she might be one of those stinkin' bleeding heart liberals but I don't know for sure, I barely know her.

I've just read that ISIS has launched blood drives. hah

Jordan conducted 56 bombings since their pilot was murdered, that's in addition to what the US has done and apparently ISIS soldiers are in need of blood donations. I'm so amused by that. I laughed after I snorted. Of course no one has a choice, they must donate their blood.

Our bombs kill a shit ton of innocent people all the time.

I remember when we first invaded Iraq and Americans were so pissed that our soldiers were being killed by snipers, roadside bombs and assorted other means, I could hardly believe the audacity of their outrage. We invaded them! I'm not sure what so many expected but it was war after all and I would hope that if my country were invaded the people would fight the invaders too.

I'm a proud American but I'm not oblivious to our fucked up ways.

Eggh... I shouldn't Mock it. It's a bit like cancer; if you don't treat it, it's going to fuck you up completely. To treat it, we have to cut off a few bits, nuke a few other bits and sometimes introduce a bit of poison into the whole body to rid it of a greater evil. Sometimes America is the chemotherapy of the world. Sometimes America veils some pretty harsh chemotherapy as being for the greater good of the world body when it really is mostly only a good thing for the American digestive system. Sometimes when it is only good for the American heart. But that's only human nature; the majority of us look out for our own first.

It's not really America. The pilot was from Jordan after all.

I believe it is how and where you grow up. You guys in the States had the same problem with the Gangs. If you grow up in a neighbourhood like that, what are your chances.

So if you grow up like this ....

[Image: 1780724_10153132929698417_60000369274198...nbzu3y.jpg]

In a neighbbourhood like that ....

[Image: 1795519_10153132932113417_80509805064103...wlmhsh.jpg]

.... it will fuck you up!

This is also the reason why by now I actually hate Israel. Justifying all those hundreds of dead children by the possibility of them turning out to be terrorists later that might hate Israel. I mean who wouldn't when you grow up like that?!

So it is not anymore about America alone, but much more general. There are more Muslims killing Muslims at this stage that the rest of the planet could just sit by and watch them eradicate themselves without any sort of outside help.

At the risk of appearing uber-specific Smiley_emoticons_wink, I don't think it was ever about America alone.

War and terror have always existed and I agree with you that environment is a big part of what most children become. There's plenty of fucked-uppery in every country, every ideology, every religion... Effin' humans.

Anyway, you posted something in another thread a while back that I thought hit the nail on the head -- something to the effect that hopelessness was the largest single contributor to amassing recruits to violent organizations.

It's easier for me to understand terrorists attracting hopeless poverty-stricken individuals via religious extremism in their own backyards than it is for me to understand how IS has managed to attract and convert so many brutal Australians, Brits, and other western volunteers. I tend to think mental and emotional illness figures heavily into that phenomenon.
