Does it matter? Seriously. Didn't her daughter say her mother sent her into the house to get her brother? That's not something a mother who is afraid for her kids does. A mother who is afraid for herself and her children does not put them in danger, which she did. My impression of this, from what has been reported, is that the mother instigated a confrontation. I don't have feelings of pity nor sorrow for her and her kids. It's too bad she's dead, she should have made better decisions.
Or maybe she was fearful for her daughters safety, so she grabbed the son who is a little stronger. I guess what it comes down to, what happened that led up to this?
I think it does matter on the basis of his defense, if it was in fact self defense or was she trying to peacefully speak to him. I know sounds far fetched, but not every person in this world is evil. If she did in fact care for this boy like her husband said, maybe she was not trying to harm him or hurt him. But in fact speak to him about whatever it was that lead to the altercation.
I would like to know the REAL story of how this all started.

Okay so first of all, people who live in Vegas avoid the strip like the plague. Secondly, it wasn't hot there when this happened. It was colder than a witches tit, but I agree the timing of the "driving lesson" isn't relevant.

Agreed. I'd like to know the REAL story too.
I understand everything you are saying, I do but I was done with this family when I found out they lied. There is no coming back from that for me. I'm not giving the benefit of doubt to those that lie. That makes me feel snarky towards them now.

HAHA Snarky...... Great word...I need to use that more often!!
I just know from experience that some innocent people can be portrayed like evil villains if it helps out another party. Sadly enough whomever in this family started to lie, or keep from the public information. Thus, people tend to distrust them after they find out they were not telling the truth.
I WOULD LOVE a trial, but I highly doubt there will be one. This douche bag can not afford a trial, he will take a plea.

I know, I used to be an inmate there lol. That's why I said downtown where all the locals like to hang. Although I understand that went.to hell after I left. Either way, the "24-7" rule of life in Vegas is completely accurate, as is the part about the place being filled to the fucking eyeballs with guns.

Nowsch Indicted
The indictment filed Friday accuses defendant ^Erich Milton Nowsch Jr. of murder, attempted murder and firing a weapon from a vehicle.
The shooting was initially characterized as road rage but was later found to involve more complex relationships.
The indictment doesn't name a getaway driver in the Feb. 12 killing of 44-year-old Tammy Meyers.
Police say the son fired several shots at Nowsch during the fatal shootout in a cul-de-sac outside the Meyers' home.

I look forward to finding out so much more about this because right now I think the son should be indicted too. If that kid fired in response to be fired at then the son should be arrested as well.

Nowsch appeared in court today and pleaded "not guilty" to the murder charge.
He's reportedly moving forward with a claim of self-defense.
The getaway driver has still not been apprehended.

Stupid is as stupid does so the saying goes.
From the disjointed description of that night, it looks like
There was some kind of confrontation started by the suspect driving aggressively and the daughter of the victim Honked at him, apparently that pissed off the suspect(s) and they then followed the victims at least part of the way home, but not all the way.
Then, Mom being the paragon of wisdom and an upstanding citizen, loads up son #1 with a gun and they go looking for the assholes...Brillliant.
Not much detail on what was next but at some point Mom and Son return home..
Where they are shortly thereafter confronted by the suspect (where was the son at this point? One artical said something about coming out with a shotgun? That means he went in the house)
There was some additional confrontation in the yard and the asshole shot Mom in the head.
Have I got this approx right?

I think that is about right. A few holes in the actual events, but I think your over all assumption is accurate according to the Police Press Conference.
SO question, how lit up is the front yard or the street? This would be an issue for the defense, as in did the shooter KNOW who he was shooting at? (obviously he did) And did he seem them have a gun when they were on their on property?
My whole Self Defense issue is YES the mother went back out, but then drove home. The treat to this shooter was gone at this point. He knowingly and willingly drove TO THEIR house and started shooting. This was not a shooting down the road or en route. This was a shooting that happened on the victims property.

Second Suspect Arrested and Charged
^ Derrick Andrews, 26
Prosecutors unveiled an indictment last Friday which names Andrews as the alleged get-away driver. The indictment charges both Andrews and Nowsch with attempted murder, firing a weapon from a vehicle and conspiracy.
Andrews was charged and assigned to defense attorney Marty Hart for his initial arraignment. Hart told media after the proceedings: 'Right now, he's a scared young man. He's nervous, he's worried about his family and he wants them to know that he loves them.' He confirmed Andrews will plead not guilty.
Nowsch pleaded not guilty on March 12 to the murder, attempted murder and weapon charges during an appearance at Clark County District Court. He is expected to plead not guilty to the new conspiracy charge as well.
The conspiracy charges stem from allegations that Andrews and Nowsch tried to erase their cellphone records to prevent police from linking them to the shooting.
Andrews is accused of positioning his car so Nowsch could unload what Prosecutor David Stanton said police now believe to have been 24 shots at Meyers and her son Brandon.
Both Nowsch and Andrews could face the death penalty or life in prison if convicted. The trial is currently scheduled for May 26 th.
District Attorney Steve Wolfson said: 'If you're a getaway driver, aiding and abetting another to commit a crime, you're equally guilty.'

He's too pretty for jail!
Seriously, neither Nowsch nor Andrews seems like a rocket scientist, I agree.
I don't think prosecutors will seek the death penalty for either of them, although they say they're contemplating it. I think they hope the possibility will motivate both suspects to plead guilty and accept life sentences.
If the cases go to trial, it would be very difficult to get a death penalty sentence even if they're convicted, IMO, due to the fact that Tammy Meyers and her son went searching for a confrontation with a gun rather than calling police.

I do not think the death penalty would stick, I think the prosecutors office is hopefully smarter then that and seek manslaughter or murder. They could argue this was premeditated because they did position the car a certain way, came back around to actually commit the crime. Now did they intend on killing, that will be the prosecutors job.
MY GUESS is this guy is going to RAT on the other, especially if he was JUST the driver. He will roll on him in a heart beat!!!

Yeah, I agree. I think prosecutors are hitting Andrews with the exact same charges as Nowsch, even though Andrews was apparently only the driver, for leverage purposes.
I think they'll drop or reduce some of the charges if Andrews agrees to testify against Nowsch.
Here's the latest in the case:
Derrick Andrews, 26, appeared in Las Vegas Justice Court with his newly appointed counsel, Martin Hart.
A judge set his trial for May 26, which is the same date his co-defendant, Erich Nowsch, was assigned.
According to an indictment, Andrews was identified as the person who picked up Erich Nowsch, 19, and drove the teen around a west Las Vegas Valley neighborhood on Feb. 12. Nowsch told a grand jury he had followed Tammy Meyers believing he had also been followed.
Prosecutors claim Nowsch opened fire at the woman outside of her home from a vehicle. Meyers was shot in the head and died two days later.
Andrews first appeared in court last Thursday. He faces the same charges as Nowsch, including conspiracy to commit murder, murder with use of a deadly weapon, attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm from or within a structure or vehicle.
A hearing is set for Wednesday (today) to determine whether Nowsch should face the death penalty.
