I heard on the news....she wants to address the skyrocketing college debt by.... cutting deductions for the wealthy. That, or some form of that (raising taxes on the wealthy--cutting deductions, same/same) has been the answer for EVERYTHING for the last 8 years. We get reamed here in California and she wants us to bend over even more on a federal level? Fuck it. Income inequality my ass. I'm voting for someone who offers some other solutions besides the same old "tax 'em more"! As far as Social Security goes, whoever said those who make more should forego their SS (or some portion thereof)...why not raise the age since we're all living longer? That affects everyone equally but nooooooooooooooo....We can't have that. Commando Cunt Queen

I love your idea of a cap, User. I do. I'm trying not to compare football to politics but I'm going to have to. We have a cap in football, otherwise the richest owners would have ALL the best players. Why can't they do that in DC? We have proof it works.

An amusing consideration to cut "Billions" of dollars, not Millions, would be to cut out, clamp down on "Welfare Fraud, Medicare Fraud, Medicaid Fraud for starters! No need to raise the SS age, or cut benefits. Fraudulent claims cost "Billions" of dollars each year, every year!
And then talking about limits, there should be a "time limit" for able body people able to "work", but prefer not to, to continue to receive SSI, Welfare, Medicaid. Instead of being a "drain" on the system coffers, those able bodies could/should earn a paycheck, and start to contribute into those coffers!

Someone (YOU) who is "not easily swayed" by indisputable facts because he refuses to accept/admit that he was wrong is "thick headed". And, I'm talking about the empty head sitting on your shoulders only!! Anyway.........I agree with what Hillary Clinton said at a New Hampshire Town Hall Meeting when asked about Trump today. "It's entertainment. It's all entertainment. I think he's having the time of his life. Getting up on that stage, you know, being up on that stage, saying whatever he wants to say, getting people excited, both for and against him", she said. I also agree with her that Marco Rubio's statement about denying abortions to victims of rape and incest, along with Jeb Bush's statement that "women's health is over-funded", were more offensive than anything Trump said (and that Rubio's/Bush's positions in that regard are simply reflective of the GOP as a whole). Trump's Republican poll rating 24 hours after the debate was unchanged; he didn't increase his support nor did he lose any support. But, after he cried about not being treated "fairly" and "appropriately" by Megyn Kelly, at least one poll of Republicans and right-leaning Independents shows his favorable rating over 30%. That says more about those particular voters than it does Trump, IMO. In any event, the number of registered voters who say they see Trump unfavorably remains high — 52 percent of all voters say they see him in a negative light. That makes Trump currently both the most popular candidate within the Republican field and the least popular candidate Republicans could nominate for next year’s general election. Will he run as an Independent if he doesn't implode and is still not nominated by the GOP? We shall see.

Here's my question: Why the cap on payment into SS but not Medicaid? If you want more funds and NOT give the wealthy their paltry $36K, remove the cap! Why not put the post requirement income threshold at $1M? Why are those who do not need the income, entitled to collect? It's a tax. I don't have kids attending school and yet I am forced to pay taxes for education. Why should I pay for a benefit I am not enjoying? Tell me I'm not entitled to get my money back!

That affects everyone equally but nooooooooooooooo....We can't have that. Christie's plan involves both raising the retirement eligibility age for SS benefits and cutting off the wealthy. He wants to: 1. Raise the age by two years (from age 67 to age 69), one month a year, over the next 25 years. This change would start in 2022. 2. Cut off Americans with “retirement income” above $200,000 and with “more than $4 to $5 million in liquid assets saved” because “they don’t need that Social Security check.” Shortly after the Christie/Huckabee debate exchange, Bernie Sanders tweeted: “Social Security can pay every penny owed for the next 18 years. Lift the cap on taxable income and it’ll be solvent for decades.” Sanders is on the budget committee and says the SS fund will not be bankrupt for nearly two decades if nothing changes, and the fund would be in good shape for decades thereafter if the $118,500 ceiling on earnings that are taxed by Social Security were lifted.

I *think* I could stomach raising the cap provided, having contributed more to SS, we could expect more back (either via earlier retirement or higher SS checks). Here again, why should we contribute more and not get more back in retirement? Truth is, fuck social security. It's only for idiots that can't save/invest their money anyway. I'm pretty sure we could do a lot better than the government with the dollars we're contributing to SS. It's all a rip off to help the stupid. Commando Cunt Queen

When we stop paying in to Social Security, I'll start to think about not expecting some portion of that money back. We get our annual SS statements and between my husband and I, we're already entitled to the max SS payments at retirement. As if we should just shrug off all that money we put into the system over the years. I can't read this crap anymore. My brain is going to explode. Commando Cunt Queen

I have been watching your Trump spectacle from over here Down Under. What an idiot. You cannot have him running the joint. He thinks he is God. He has been rich for too long and it has gone to his head. Christians wont support him, he is too vulgar. Not to mention women, women are not going to let him get away with his rampant blatant misogyny. Hell hath no fury....
08-11-2015, 07:30 AM
He has a ton of support here and it appears to be growing by the day. I don't have any numbers to back that up, I'm just going by the headlines I see on a daily basis. I just heard that Rick Perry has stopped paying his campaign staff.
