HotD, those kitchen table "dealers" may have to apply for a FFL, but odds are that they will be denied. That is unless the loosen the rules at the ATF. Like I said the ATF tried to do away with home based dealers.
As far as the slippery slope goes. I joined the Gabby Gifford group, Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC, some time ago. Well today less than 24 hours after Obummer was on the boob tube crying his eyes out, that group is already looking forward to what they can do next. I say that because of this snip from their email.
Gabby and Mark were proud to stand with the president as he outlined these executive actions yesterday -- action that will save lives.
Thank President Obama for his leadership on the issue of gun violence prevention.
What a terrific start to 2016. But we're just getting started.
All of our best,
The team at Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC
That's right they said nice start but we are just getting started. To me that reads gimme more gimme more gimme more.

I remember that pollution commercial.
I wonder if they could get away with running that same commercial today. I am sure someone would be offended by it.

I understood what you posted F.U.
If the kitchen table dealers don't meet licensing requirements, they can more easily be prosecuted if they continue to deal guns outs of their houses. I have no problem with that. If some of them can meet the requirements and become licensed dealers, I have no problem with that either.
In any case, there will be more licensed dealers after the Executive Actions go into effect. Some, not all, currently unlicensed dealers will become licensed under the new criteria. So, the pool of licensed dealers will in fact increase.
I'm sure the gun safety/control advocates want more than just the modest changes afforded by the new Executive Actions, F.U. They had bigger goals before the Executive Actions were proposed and they'll still have those bigger goals once the Executive Actions are put into effect.
The fact that they're grateful and enthusiastic about some positive movement for their cause doesn't represent a slippery slope to me. The Executive Actions don't make it any more likely that the government's gonna try to come grab your guns or force you to register them, in my opinion. They're simply measures to reduce and prevent some gun violence.
I think that objecting to change, even positive and moderate change, based on nothing but fear of future drastic change, puts one in a weak position.

Guns SHOULD be registered but the only thing pro-gun people think is "now the government will know what I have and I don't want them to know that".

Well HotD. I guess we will just look at this differently. I see the black ice on the road at the top of the hill and you don't, that's fine. I guess time will tell who is right.
Duch. You wanna roll your eyes that's fine, but history around the globe shows us that registration is followed by confiscation.
You really want to roll your eyes. I refuse to insure my firearms because the Insurance co wants a complete list of what I have, including ser numbers. I said hell no because I don't trust Ins Co's to keep that info private. I think that there could come a day where the Gov decides to take that info the Ins Co's have and use it against us. There, Hows that for a tinfoil hat concept.

That will never happen in the United States. There would be a revolt the likes of which the government has never seen and I sincerely doubt the military would follow any order to confiscate weapons. This is what I believe.

If it ever happens it will happen in stages. First the evil black guns that everyone calls assault weapons. Then it will be hi capacity semiauto's of all types. Then hi cap pump guns, then ...
There would be a lot of people that would grumble as they stood in line to turn their guns in for fear of punishment if they did not. All we have to do is look across the pond and see what they went through and what types guns they are allowed , as well as how hard it is to be permitted to own them. It happened there it can happen here too.

F.U., you're cracking me up here.
You insist that it's irrelevant to look at what other countries have done in their attempts to reduce some of the same gun violence problems that the U.S. faces. You don't wanna hear an effin' word about gun controls and policies from anyone or anywhere outside of the U.S. of A., by golly, and that is that!!!!
BUT, when you need something to support your fear-based contentions as to what's bound to happen in the U.S., you cite gun controls and policies exclusively from other countries. When it fits your agenda, foreign gun controls and policies are suddenly HIGHLY relevant to the U.S. of A., by golly, and that is that!!!

Its because of how things turned out across the pond that I don't want to even consider the way they did things. Its not that hard to understand HotD. But that's OK. Glad I can make you laugh.

Well it's pretty funny the way you pick & choose how to present your case. Things that were irrelevant are now relevant.

Because it fun to play every once and a while. They think they are all high and mighty, doing something good for the children [remember the children. that is until we discuss abortion then fuck the children] by trying to stop even one death. You know, if we can stop even one death its worth all the bull shit we have to deal with.
I know they wont ever see the light, but its fun anyway.
