I
Like
It.
Don't care about the compensation. It's worth it. There's been more talk about the RB out of Ohio State landing in Philly.
Oh you haven't heard. I did after I posted that. I think it's great news.

Early this morning I saw a little bit of what you were referring to with that post ^^^^^^. I didn't hangout, I read a little and left. I can't deal with all the negativity, it's suffocating.

I miss bo, blo and Veemak. Other than that, it never even crosses my mind anymore. If anyone has an update on bobeph's father I'd appreciate hearing it. I know he had prostate cancer right before I got the boot.

It surely has been.
A federal appeals court has ruled that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady must serve a four-game Deflategate suspension imposed by the NFL, overturning a lower judge and siding with the league in a battle with the NFL Players Association.
"We hold that the Commissioner properly exercised his broad discretion under the collective bargaining agreement and that his procedural rulings were properly grounded in that agreement and did not deprive Brady of fundamental fairness," the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday in a 2-1 decision in New York.
The decision by a three-judge panel may end the legal debate over the scandal that led to months of football fans arguing over air pressure and the reputation of one of the league's top teams. It is also likely to fuel a fresh round of debate over what role, if any, the quarterback and top NFL star played in using underinflated footballs in the AFC Championship Game in January 2015. The Patriots won the contest over the Indianapolis Colts and then won the Super Bowl.

What the hell is going on with my team? Why am I getting notifications that my QB wants to be traded? Huh? Huh? Huh? Da fuck!

Can we not have any drama. I fuckin' hate drama. What the hell is going on up there? Not too long ago I read that Sam welcomed the opportunity to prove he's capable of being a franchise QB. I'd be interested in knowing what happened between then & now.

They overpaid his backup and traded a future first rounder for a rookie QB. If he were an established vet, face of the franchise, he'd have room to gripe.
Honestly I'm surprised Bradford is being a such a baby tho. He got paid. They said he's the starter. In truth, there was a 50⁄50 chance he'd even resign with the birds. It was his choice. You can't be afraid to compete with a rookie. Stupid.

I can't help but feel there is something more going on, something we don't know about and it concerns the front office.
After this story broke yesterday I did some reading. One sports reporter said Sam didn't show up at the Nova Care Complex and another reported that contrary to earlier reports he did show up. So now I can't believe the reporters nor can I believe what comes out of the FO and I'm sorry I even care.

Broncos reached out to us yesterday about him, not sure what the dollar amount was, but it was too high for them.

He's absolutely in the Eagles plans this year. I know I said trade him when the news of the draft trade broke, but they gave him $11M in signing bonus. If they trade him this year, they only save 1M on the cap and they lose that 11M in dead money for a guy that didn't even play. You're gonna ask for a big payback to trade that guy. Besides that, Wentz has tons of athletic ability, but he's a small school kid with tons of coaching needed. He'd do well to ride the pine and learn a year.
Chase is their long term backup I think, or alternative if Wentz can't go next year. Bradford is the starter this year, trade bait next year. I guess Bradford doesn't like being played with like that, but fuck you, you signed a two year deal, what did you expect? Long term loyalty? If you wanted to play for the Broncos, you should have gone to free agency when you had the chance. Asshole.

Here's the draft report on Wentz:
STRENGTHS Tall with an athletic, proportional build that is made for the NFL position. Played in a pro-style attack with plenty of snaps under center. Asked to make NFL throws and showed he could do it. Stands tall in the pocket and delivers with a relatively high release point. Keeps ball high and tight in the pocket and can uncork it quickly with tight, sharp release and little wasted motion. Throws catchable ball with tight spiral. Naturally accurate passer. Sees lurking linebackers underneath and throws receivers open to safest spot in the passing window. Able to change arm slots and still throw a strike. Has plus deep ball accuracy and touch. Calm in pocket and has no problems sitting in and taking a hit to complete a pass. Excelled in structured passing attack that required him to read the entire field. Has athleticism to escape pressure and hurt defenses with his legs. Already able to feel pressure on the edges and slide around in pocket without dropping his eyes. Adept in play-action game at selling fakes and quickly finding safeties to help determine where to go with the ball. Intelligent with long list of academic achievements. Should be able to process and handle an NFL playbook quickly. Can play pitch and catch all day long against zone coverage.
WEAKNESSES When rolling out, will float it a little too much when taking shots down the field. Allows passing windows to close quickly when he short arms his release. Needs a little more consistency on anticipatory throws outside the hash. Will get caught locking in on target bringing secondary charging in to make a play on the ball. Inconsistent footwork from the pocket. Arm gets ahead of his feet even with time to come to balance. Needs to pick up pace of his post-snap setup. Has to put a little extra air on his field-side throws. Can be a little flat with his downfield, touch throws. Has to eliminate the occasional nonchalant throw into tight quarters. Doesn't look comfortable yet with bootleg rollouts to the left. Broke a bone in his throwing wrist in October sidelining him for eight weeks. Dealt with arm and shoulder injuries as a baseball player in high school. Lower level of competition could cause issues for him adapting to NFL speed.
BOTTOM LINE With a body type that is as prototypical as they come and a background in reading the entire field and working through progressions, Wentz will immediately check a couple of boxes that many college quarterbacks won't be able to check. While his arm strength is OK, he can still make all the throws and he can make them with accuracy. His ability to escape pressure and pick up first downs with his feet will be yet another check mark in his favor. Wentz is still in a developmental phase after just two years at an FCS program, but has the mental and physical building blocks of a future, franchise quarterback.

Honestly, I wish they'd just let him go. I don't want anyone on my team who doesn't want to be there and it's very difficult to shine and do your best work in a miserable atmosphere.

That really plays absolutely into his hands. I agree with you, I have no support for Sammy Sleeves at this point, but the best punishment is sticking him in as the starter, and benching him for Chase if he struggles or is checked out mentally. It hurts his trade value, but it serves him right for acting like a child.
I never give up on the birds, but my expectations are low this year. I'm willing to give Pederson a year off of expectations to build a winning program. Chip never had that bad year until he was out the door and it only set us back more. I want to give Wentz a year to learn, make sure we give him every opportunity to secure that position for the future. You have nothing without a QB.

It was shocking to me when I read he had asked to be traded. I did not see that coming and I was gobsmacked. I believed he was capable of leading my team and I believed he would have great success this year. I know he had Jordan & Zack at his home as guests and I thought they were all working together to be the best they could be as a unit. I had faith! I couldn't possibly know this but I think the Eagles organization were not entirely honest with him, I think they told him one thing and did another.
