I start a new job tomorrow
#21
I still love my job.
Doing the math-I will need to have at least a 2nd job or different job by end of July.
That being said, I have been on some interviews lately.
I have 2 tomorrow! One is a city job the other is an acpuncture clinic-which sounds really interesting! Smiley_emoticons_biggrin
The city job is 40 miles away in a very very small town-but would be a good future type job.

40 miles is a long drive, so the $$$ has to make it worth while for you to spend an hour or so on the roads one way each day. And also so that you won't need a 2nd job to make ends meet. Good Luck.

Still waiting for the ranger uniform picture. It doesn't matter if you got the job or not.

Ha Ha.

I don't think I look that good in uniform. I look better in dresses and skirts etc etc

Nice. They sound like interesting options.
My manager talked to me yesterday and is wanting to look to act in his role and be a back up for when he has leave. I think it may put a few noses out of joint.

Well my favorite job in the whole world is coming to a close soon. This week will be my last full week and then I am down to 1 maybe 2 days a week for the winter.
I dragged my feet at finding a 2nd job this summr and opted to have fun instead.
So now I am either-looking for a job to hold me over for the winter so I can go back in the spring-
or just find another new job all together.

I am a little worried, but not too worried. I already updated my resume last night (hence why I am so tired) and sent it off to an employment agency I have worked with in the past.

It will be real hard to go back to a desk job after this one, but I think just needing the finances will be a motivation. I have rent paid through November only, so I have a tiny buffer.

Started a job at a Veternarian office today. It is a busy office!
Had to see 2 pets be laid to rest. That will not be easy to witness. : (
Saw one animal in surgery and I didn't pass out! (I actually passed out in a vet office once-but it was a hot day, I hadn't had anything to eat and they were painting) I was always sort of worried how I would do working at a veternarians office but always wanted to try it.

I hope to still get some boat days come spring. I think after last summer I could handle working 2 jobs now, especially since one is like being on vacation.

Isn't that great! I hope you will be happy there, honey.

I can't be there to see my own pets euthanized. I just can't do it. I know I would probably make a spectacle of myself with tears. I'm lucky that I've had people who care about me who have taken my pets when needed.

My summer job was on a boat. It was seasonal. They transport residents, tourists and freight. It was the funnest job ever. I hope to continue it in the weekends in the spring.

It is sad for sure. Had another one today and this one was especially emotional. I am going to have to learn some good coping skills to get through these.

I knew I shouldn't have posted about it yet. Maybe I spoke too soon! I don't think I will last there. But maybe it is for the better. I will keep looking then.

I wrote a letter directly to the vet instead of trying to go through the employment agency.

They feel I would be susceptible to compassion fatigue, but also noted that having 3 euthenasias within 2 days was also not common. They liked me just fine, but also felt that perhaps I was not genial enough.
Which is totally true-usually when I am first learning a job I am more serious and trying to concentrate and I am not my normal joking self or as outgoing until I feel comforable.
It certainly does give me something to think about in my next place, but also I really feel wierd that they only gave me 2 days chance. Tough crowd!

I think you're brave to have tried. I couldn't have done it
& I wouldn't have the courage to try.
