Trading Spouses
#1
The reality show, Trading Spouses will pay you 20 grand to switch out wives with another- usually your polar opposites- family for two weeks.

The editing for the show generally makes everyone appear as limp wristed lame or a wanna-macho tool. Or, both.

Would you sign the waivers and allow you and yours to be featured on the show?

There are always children involved, right?

So that'd be a real big NO.

I have to agree with Lumpy on this one. Not if there are kids involved. And I doubt I would want to anyway. Unless, it were my ex. Then I would swap permanently. LOL

Yes, if you've seen the show (admittingly, a guilty pleasure here) there are definitely kids involved and the cameras rome wherever you are and pretty much wherever you go, capturing your private moments and editing them into a delightfully "reality" feast unlike any other. We TIVO it weekly and take the qualtiy time necessary to watch and mock sometimes 'till there are tears in our eyes.

Edited to add:

It's an hour show so say there's about 50 minutes of tape but it takes us about an hour 20 minutes to get through one eps.

I mention the children not out of concern for their welfare but for purely selfish reasons. Two weeks stuck in a house with an adult asshole would be bad enough, but add in children, and I'd probably go berserk.

20K goes a long ways in buying lots of pain/berserk medication though.

No it doesn't! 20K is chicken feed in today's economy. I can blow that on furniture for my house alone and I'm not talking fancy furniture or custom fabrics and stuff!

No, someone else's rotten brats cannot be tolerated for 20K. I'm sure they ramp up the brattiness too for the show.

Now I do know someone who was approached for this a couple years ago... she was approached because of all the animals in her house and I've seen photos.... she lives in a pig sty. Now that would probably make good TV when the other 'wife' got there and smelled the stink and saw her rotten kids.

Bunnies running loose, 6 dogs, 4 cats, 20+ hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice and guinea pigs. Lovely.

There isn't enough money in the world that could entice me to trade my life for someone elses, not even for a couple weeks.

You wouldn't be trading lives, only your situation. You would still be you living in another woman's environment and she in yours.
