Realistically, there's a theory about maintaining a healthy weight... eat less; move more
It's simple.... and that's why a lot of overweight people will continue to be overweight, they just continue to blame evrything other than themselves;
It's in my genes... I'm big boned... I don't get time to eat healthy... I don't have time to exercise blah blah blah
Bullshit! You're just too lazy and irresposible to do anything about it! It's no harder to eat healthy than to buy crap food. They just don't want to
Shit when I was a kid, the nearest town was a 45 minute drive away and didn't even have a chain fast food store. The nearest McDonalds or KC was a 4 hour fucking drive away... There wasn't one fat kid in my primary school. I look at the other kids my kids go to school with and I think their parents are insane... What the fuck are they feeding them to let a 12 year old boy weigh in at 80kg (~175 lbs)? My kids eat a normal breakfast of cereal or porridge or toast etc, go to school with a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a tub of yoghurt and a muesli bar or something like that and will have meat and three veg or something like fish or lasagne for dinner... they haven't freaking starved to death yet. On the contrary my 16 year old daughter is 6' freaking tall, she's hardly malnourished.
It all comes down to laziness and frigging convenience. The kids whinge, the parents are spineless, they cave and next thing you now they have a lazy little overweight whinger and they blame society, genetics and the moon and the fucking stars for their own foolishness

Ugh I've seen plenty of pizza I wont' touch! Just ask Frank...... I can go on for an hour! He knows exactly what I mean.
D, I've had pizza in Michigan..... sorry but goddam that is some foul shit. Know what else I found to be some fucked up shit there..... Coney Islands. Stores called by that name too.
Sorry, but that is some foul shit and the stores never EVER look inviting. I don't think they have them near where you live do they? I've only seen them in the Detroit area when we went there to visit his family. Depends on where you go Ant. Just like any other state. LOL. Where I live right now, I wont eat anything but BC Pizza. (Best Choice Pizza) They have some excellent pizzas, especially if you get the cheese filled crust. Hot damn.
I wont touch Pappa Johns, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, or Little Ceasars. No. Thank. You. CHAIN STORE PIZZA? ::tdown::
If I walk in and there's not at least one person behind the counter yammering on in Italian then it's not real pizza.
But then again, I've been known to drive the 3 hours from here to Long Island for pizza from Mario's in Farmingdale. ::fuckyeah::

Everywhere you looked there was massive fat people "grazing", they all had food/drink in their hands all waddling along aimlessly.
I lost count of the number of times people couldn't go on certain rides because of their sheer size, when we saw Captain EO at the Epcott centre I have never been in such a large enclosed space with so much cellulite and blubber at one time. I think you might be missing the very real possibility that the people you saw at Disneyworld were tourists from other countries as well. Granted, the US hasour share of fat asses, but we're not the only ones in the world.
Sorry to burst the bubble but they were ALL Americans, ALL, apart from one Italian family who pushed their way to the front of all the ridesthen realised they were too fat to sit in the seats.
(this actually did happen to me) Yank queue pushers too fat to enjoy the rides slowlythe queuesslow down everyoneelse ?
Fat fucks spoiling the experience ofnormal sized patrons ?
::angrier:: Okay, silly me for thinking there were tourists in Florida.
Yeah.......American tourists.
The fact they never shut theirbig fat yaps for five minutes meant their American accents were a bit of a giveaway yeah ?
Face it, apart from Australia you are the fattest nation on the planet.

The trouble with Australia is the younger generations were force fed so much America. McDonalds, KFC, Hungry Jacks, Krispy Kreme yada yada.. That along with NBA, Eminem and gangsta rap, hell they may as well even have the accent. All because they saw it on the internet and on the TV and it was commercialised as being "oh so cool"
That coupled with the fact that our economy has been strong for so long that people can afford to be lazy ass bitches. They have squandered the quality of life they were provided by their previous generations, just like America is doing, and in the not so distant future it will bite a lot of them on the ass

Great Britain is heading the same way.
Too much cheap junk food, irresponsible parenting, general malaise, processed foods full of chemicals and shit.

LuMPyPussy Wrote:Anyway, I was wondering if it's a regional thing. I know everyone laughs and points at Americans for being fat, but this is a pretty big difference. What about your area of the US, is there a large proportion of overweight people? Quick answer: Yes, it's regional.
Geogia vs California.... are you kidding?
CA is one of the most 'health conscious' states in the US.

My mothers attitude was eat the freshly prepared food I put in front of you or starve, end of story. I grew up eating fairly balanced home cooked meals (most nights). We very rarely had breakfast and sometimes a 'lunch' type meal, sometimes not. I never had an issue with eating my veggies and such, it strikes me as ludicrous that so many kids 'won't' eat vegetables. I was thin growing up... being overweight is my own fault.
My son would rather eat raw fresh veggies than carbs or protein. It's actually a bit of a problem because he's 4lbs UNDERweight for his height (that's quite a bit for a toddler). He also refuses to drink milk.
The Antagonist Wrote:REAL Coney Island hot dogs do NOT remotely look like that. What you describe there is exactly what I think when I saw the picture.
I never walked into one of the restaurants and today was the first time I saw a picture of one when I looked it up. Disgusting.
Food in America differs vastly from region to region. Growing up in NYC there are not many places that I am comfortable eating. I like Nathans hotdogs. mmmm
with kraut and mustard, please!

I don't buy it when people say their kids are picky eaters. They're only picky eaters because you allow them to be by substituting junk for healthy food. I very much agree. My daughter is 2 1⁄ 2 96% of the time she either eats what we make or doesn't eat at all.

I don't know what it is, or why it can't seem to be replicated outside the NJ/NYC area, but THAT is pizza.
Oh, and 'Italian Bread'... also like nowhere else.

A fluffernutter is a Marshmallow whip(found next to the pudding, lemon curd, and other crap) mixed with peanut butter on bread.
I'm not in the mood for it now, but I could go for a slice of Pete's pizza. He's an old italian guy who makes everything from scratch. I'd rather not even eat pizza if it has to come from a chain. It's not even pizza, it's soft crappy bread with cheap toppings thrown on it.
