There is a war going on in this day and age where women and children are fleeing and men being left to fight to their death and you're worried about going green? The planet is one and only one and fracking is happening in other countries, we're not going to save our little slice of the planet.
The only way that fracking is viable is if it's subsidized, meaning the cost of cleaning up the environmental degradation gets socialized by adding it to the national debt. Conservatism use to support environmental stewardship. It stopped due to corruption. Fracking is not in the public interest. It's in my financial interest. I care about now, not the future. We are a wart on the earth's ass. It was fine before us and will be long after.
If you don't care about others, why should anyone care about you?

Getting back to the topic of this thread, For those of you who think Putin's actions are indefensible, should you not at least be asking why the Minsk Agreement was ignored by Ukraine and it's Western backers?
What sense does it make to refuse to honor that agreement when there was never any intention by the West to defend Ukraine against military aggression?

I just don't want it to escalate. Many of the Russian soldiers have family in the Ukraine. And Brandon is in Iran again trying to appease them. He will fuck everyone. One year and here we are.
Are you better off than you were a year ago?

Yes. trump isn't president. Things would be so much worse if he were. He'd still be doing Putin's job for him.

You're probably right America would be in the Ukraine instead of Russia.

The governor of Ohio, saved his constituents from having to buy that pesky Russian Vodka. From what I hear, we still buy tons of oil from them, but at least Ohio won't be drunk off the good stuff while they do it.
So there's that

Nobody will stop the oil, wait, Brandon did in the U.S. now Russia has the cards. We could have been a contender.

So give it a rest and look into the Minsk Agreement, which is at the heart of this mess. Have you heard any of the talking heads make mention of it? If it's legit news they would have to; if it's merely opinion, they won't, because it falls under the rubric of an "inconvenient truth". Then ask yourself, what else aren't they telling me?

Are there people around Putin who could prevent him from nuking the world? Is there protocol to go through or does he have a button on his desk that launches nukes? There's oversimplified, but I think you know what I mean.

Why would Putin want to nuke the world? What makes you think that?

He put his nuclear forces on high alert. I want to believe that's just him throwing his weight around and doing what bullies everywhere do, but he is a world leader and he absolutely knows better than to mention anything nuclear related, he made a deliberate choice to do so. The whole world is turning on him, except for China and they abstained which is probably a big deal given his normally close relationship with Xi.
