I would say garlic, black pepper and salt as well. Those are the everyday staples. Beyond that, it is impossible to choose unless you only cook certain dishes. You need chili powder and cumin for chili, or oregano and basil for pasta sauce, or curry powder for Indian and Thai dishes, soy sauce for Japanese and Chinese dishes, or cayenne pepper for spicy dishes, or cinnamon for Vietnamese dishes or paprika for hungarian dishes... it just depends on what you mostly cook. If it's diverse then you need every spice and seasoning known to man.

I love my local Asian market. I made a hot pot with a variety of seafood and dumplings the other night and next up is miso black cod.
