E.V's suck!!!
#1
Wow, I finally looked up how long it takes to fully charge a EV. So many factors involved, so many changing stations with problems, 3 levels of charging speeds. Level 1 Trickle charge, can Take up to
“30” hours. Level 2 Fast charge, 240 volt plug can take between 4 to 7 hours. Level 3 Rapid charge,
this 400 to 600 volt charge can reach 80% charge in half an hour. However, sadly this speed is toughest
on the battery. Many automakers have a warning in their car manuals, frequent use of level 3 charging
can negatively impact battery performance and durability, and recommend minimizing its usage!
Not very appealing to me.

As an aside, I would be concerned being stuck on the road in traffic jam in a winter snow for hours with the “electric heater” on!

And conversely in Florida stuck in a road in a traffic jam with the electric A/C on!

All this, after spending $$$$.  As far as I’m concerned a EV is not for me.

TL;DR: EV's suck donkey balls. hah

They're being promoted because the special people don't want the masses using any more of their oil and gas. Conversely, I don't want the special people breathing any more of our air.

I don't think I'd be interested in something that can negatively impact my battery's performance. We need to be able to count on our batteries.

Batteries are toxic. The manufacturing process is toxic. How is that suposed to save the planet? Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch

My first order of business tomorrow is to get a covid shot and maybe they'll throw in a monkeypox, get my daughter puberty blockers because she wants to be a boy, buy an EV and get an only fans account. It's for the better of the community and the world.

My sister got an electric vehicle this last year. It works for her for her commute, but when she wants to go other places she has to use a dif vehicle most of the time. SHe drove over 2 mountain passes to come see me and had to stop twice I think. Ugh.
I rode w/ her once and not being able to use heat would be a deal breaker for me.

Granted she doesn't have to utilize fuel stations anymore and w/ the increase of fuel prices she was immune to that-but I don't think an EV would be for me either. I think she just wanted to see if she could do it, but she isn't sold either.

I had a natural gas honda civic just to use the carpool lane, it was as clean a vehicle as you can get. What a pain in the ass as the stations are few and far between and were plagued with outages. The mileage was 235 miles and good luck if you finally made it to a broken station, nobody brings you a tank, a tow truck takes you to the nearest hoping that one is working. How is the power made for electric cars? Most likely natural gas now being put in a toxic battery made in china, what in the actual fuck, bizarro world!

U-Haul has propane filling stations, that's where I take my grill tank to. Did you know that exchanging a grill tank gets you 20% less gas than going to fill it at an Agway or U-haul. Exchanges are rip-offs.

Mr Bee had always said he wanted an EV before he died. Well he got it. An early one, with a short range, about 200 miles on a charge, At the time, just a few years ago there were not a lot of public charging stations...and those you had to pay to use. He had to get a high power 220charger base which only took a shorter time to get to full charge. If you used a 110 it took forever. We leased it. Still had it when he passed, so when the lease was up, I was so glad to be rid of it
