I saw it said that total spending in state & federal elections during the 2022 midterm cycle will exceed $16.7 billion which is up from $13.7 billion 4 years ago. This is nuts.

It's a ridiculous amount of money but since most people running for office are millionaires, I look at this as money back into our economy. If supporters want to keep pumping money into the coffers of these millionaires, that's on them.
