I was pulling out onto the main road from a side road yesterday morning, had the green arrow--was taking my time crossing as weather was not great. As I was most of the way into my turn, some dumbass came through the red light and came just short of hitting me. If I had been going straight, they would have been scraping my car off the road. :o I hatewhen people do not adapt their driving to the weather conditions.

Skiing is harder than it looks. I flew into a pole and couldn't figure out how to take the skis off or get up from the ground to save my life. I tried to get up, but it felt like I was going to slide even more and go straight through the fucking ski resort building, so I sat there in the snow like an idiot untill someone came and picked me up. Great fun .

Sally, i highly recommend a beginners class for all novice skiers to learn those basic skills. skiing REALLY is fun!
i made my sister go with me once, she refused to take a class because she 'knew how from watching the olympics'
it was great fun and i never let her forget how she got back to the bottom of the mountain by scooting on her ass. all the way down.

I wholeheartedly agree. I tried it twice with the same results. It sucked. It was cold, wet and painful.

I'd rather be on an out of control horse. At least on the horse you can steer it away from trees, traffic and poles.

See above. I did take beginners courses. It's all fine and dandy on the tow rope slope but when you get on the damn chair, fuck that shit. All lessons are moot.

::lol::........I like watching folks on the bunny slope. And have NEVER come away from a ski trip without bruises and scrapes. It is all about how well the trail is groomed and how early you get first dibs on the powder. ::wave::

My 12 year old son picked it up really quick and was going down the expert slopes on the third day. I didn't even make it to the bunny slope before I took off my skis and said 'fuck this'. It was 5 degrees in the mountains so that didn't help either, I had to go inside and let my brain defrost.

Well I "Mastered" the bunny slope. I found it easy until I got on that fucking evil chair and the first hill. Which they said is still a beginner hill!

It was nothing but patches of ice and rocks and trees. I made it down God knows how and I took the skis off and hit the bar. I let my brother continue on his day having fun skiing but I said fuck it.

Top it off, at the time I was heavily into horse competitions and when you put your heels down to ride a horse, it balances you. When you put your heels down on skis I found out it makes you go faster. Again, I couldn't break myself of driving down my heels when I felt unbalanced and it made me go faster into rocks, dirt, trees whatever and I said fuck this shit, the runaway horse would be more controllable!

Meanwhile, I'm watching little kids like 4 years old flying past me like it's nothing! No poles, no adults, just whizzing by like the little fuckers were born to ski!

Fuck skiing. Inanimate objects and bones at high speeds are not compatible.
