BLACKFACE

Is it wrong?

I ask because how the heck do you wear a Michael Jackson costume WITHOUT blackface.

And what about females who want to have a fuck ton of braids in their hair but hesitate to do so because they'll be accused of cultural appropriation?

White women who get a bunch of tight braids close to the scalp should hesitate to do so because it looks ridiculous. May as well get a mullet too, it looks about as stupid.

Someone has all these cool Michael Jackson moves and he wants to go to the Halloween party as MJ, but can't do it without blackface and now it's a whole goddamn production because you don't want to offend people, but you aren't being disrespectful at all. It's said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I think white women with a head full of tight braids looks ridiculous too, but if they want to do it they should be able to without being called out for it. It's dumb, sometimes women think it's just a cute style and they want to check it out.

Someone can pull off MJ w/out painting their face.

Especially since MJ was lighter toned in his later years.

Oooooo that's a valid point. Thanks! I'm going to share that.

I think Michael Jackson was lighter than me. If this person got someone that is good with makeup then they could create the same complexion.

She's alright, I never thought she was banging though. She's got the body of a 13 year old boy with tits. She aint no Salma Hayek.

I read an article about it. It was 20 years ago IIRC, and the guy was a huge Michael Jackson fan. I thought it was much to do about nothing. Granted “black face” has been used pejoratively in some respects for many decades but I thought this instance was innocent.

Long story short around 18 years ago I dressed up as a “hobo” for a Halloween carnival at my kids’s school. Totally oblivious that what used to be a “hobo” was making light of homeless people. Fucking stupid on my part but intentions/character matter. I was just trying to hide a bruise from a filler injection on my chin with a charcoal beard. It wasn’t deep thinking on my part.

Why did you get a filler injection on your chin? What does that do? I need filler injections under my eyes if there is such a thing. They're all sunken in and I look like death.
