I would say it does count. A teenager committed suicide because she was stalked / harassed online. Not sure what you mean by that...

You're absolutely right. If you're not willing to open yourself up & risk some vulnerability how can you get closer to people?

Using it against me? As of late, certain information was relayed to certain members. Certainly not something I have told or posted here yet.

The thing with this site is that the info people have posted at other sites has been posted here as material for mocking. That's the way of it. I think it has happened at the site you're at & I used to be at too - people knew some shitty thing about someone and used it to shut them up in an argument. Plus it happened at my site. I had to create a separate room for "old battles" because of it. But, that is a different type of information.

I think the information of concern right now is stuff like posting links to poeple's real full names, and other things like that also known as "Personally identifiable Information or "PII". (At least that's my concern - because I am an adult who knows that what I share in terms of my opinion or my family situation or the fact that I had foot surgery in online discussions become public once I post it.) And, make no mistake, jack is right. People commit all kinds of nasty acts using information gleaned from the Internet. Identity theft, stalking, etc.

It's a really popular type of crime because it's so damned easy.
