i can't verify or authenticate that "press release" since it was posted anonymously. anybody could have written and posted it at Cuddles' blog site. frankly, since it has not appeared anywhere (that i am aware of) with their names attached, or been verified, i would disregard it. i don't know that bozo the clown didn't write that dreck.

edit to add: evidently the Hickory Record found the anonymous release credible and quoted it. maybe they have some attribution besides "anonymous". ---->

The Spiritual Counseling Network created the Zahra Baker Fund. Many people questioned the legitimacy of it and on Wednesday, it issued a statement saying it is suspending its fundraising efforts.

The Spiritual Counseling Network’s statement blamed the media for the “false accusations and lies,” as well as for the resulting threats it has received from members of the community. It said its “efforts were totally sincere and genuine.”
