You're right and I'm working on letting go. Unfortunately I'm genetically wired to do this shit. My dad bought a full-sized chalkboard for teaching us math...plus he had a big belt on the side (which to my relief, but not my brothers, was more directed at them than my sister and I). Fortunately the "beat your kid" with a belt gene seems to have petered out but not so much the YOU WILL SUCCEED part. Like I said, I'm working on it.
