generally, a person can be held "on suspicion" for 24 hours.
but they have a body, won't say where it was found, they have a suspect, won't say where he was arrested, no cause of death yet, nothing. i wonder if he led them to her and admitted it. but even if that were the case, they need more than a confession to bring charges that will hold up.
