TAMPA --
New documents describe the scene Tampa police officers encountered when they walked into the home of a woman accused of murdering her two teenage children last week.
The search warrant return, which was released by the Tampa Police Department, indicates Tampa police officers went into the family's home in Tampa Palms and found 50-year-old Schenecker, unconscious in the screened-in pool area behind the house.
Police woke Schenecker, who was wearing a robe caked with dried blood, and sat her down at a table inside the home, the report said.
Teenagers' bodies found in the house
While one officer spoke to Schenecker, the other went upstairs to check on the children. There the officer found the body Calyx Schenecker, 16, lying on a bed, covered with a blanket, the report said.
A large amount of blood was pooled around the girl's head, and the officer noticed her body was cool to the touch, investigators said.
Officers continued to search the house until they found the family's van parked in the garage. Inside the van was Beau Schenecker, 13, who was also covered with a blanket, the report said. He had suffered upper body trauma, and was also dead, police said.
Investigators later seized several items from the house, including several live bullets and an instruction manual for a handgun from the master bedroom, and five spent shell casings from the master bathroom.
