Now, the father of the murdered teens is warning a sympathetic community to be on alert for criminals who may try to collect cash in his children's names.

The children will be remembered during a life celebration ceremony at the First Baptist Church in Temple Terrace at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Col. Parker Schenecker, who has been stationed in the Middle East, issued a statement regarding any online memorials or tributes asking for donations in order of his children:

"The Schenecker family continues to be comforted by the heartfelt outpouring of love and generosity in celebration of the lives of Calyx and Beau. The family wants to clearly announce, however, that they have not yet established any memorial websites or funds that are capable of receiving financial contributions."

Any such website which bears the Schenecker name is unauthorized, misleading, and merely an attempt to exploit this tragedy and deepen the sorrow of a community trying to heal."
