2. Can law enforcement get a search warrant for ALL calls/phones pinging near the crime scene the night of the murder or can they only put in a search warrant for phone numbers only known to belong to persons of interest in the case?
OK i thought you were asking me some technical phone stuff. i would pretend i didn't hear you.
warrants need sworn affidavits supporting probable cause before a judge will sign them. you can't just get warrants for everybody who pinged off that tower that night. there has to be a nexus to the suspect.
