Has Obama ended this war? Has he called all the troops home? Are we still deploying new troops to new areas? Might be time to get over blaming Bush and rethink your rhetoric, because it's bullshit.

Afghanistan is a pointless and unwinnable quagmire, you would have thought you would have learned your lesson about fighting wars against guerilla style enemies in terrain they are familiar with in Vietnam, but noooooooooo.

The Talidan are fanatics they all believe they have 72 virgins waiting for them when they die, you can't beat that with stealth bombers.

I disagree about more troops in Iraq. I think if we, as a country (and we all have to "own" the war since we elected our leaders), enter a war, we need to go in to it with the full force of our military and do our best to accomplish our goals. Otherwise, it's just a wasted loss of life and money and completely demoralizing (Vietnam being a prime example). Shock and awe, baby.


Honestly what we're accomplishing (or not) in Iraq and Afghanistan is pretty amazing when you consider casualty numbers. Look at the number of casualties in Vietnam, the Korean War, WWI and II. Our grandparents would laugh (in some respects) at our notion of "war".
