I'm figuring his family did. If you rent the movie and watch the extras, you'll think the same. They're very 'enabling' of him and his nuttiness. They sort of feel sorry for him and how he can't cope with life etc... so I bet they gave him money.

Maybe they mentioned it in the movie and I was laughing too hard and missed it? Dunno.... either way, he's Froot Loops.
