Yes praying is a ritual and by definition a "cultish" practice. I grew out of talking to imaginary friends while I was still a toddler, what you call praying other people call schizophrenia.
If you think I am going to respect your religious/spiritual beliefs just because you have them you really are living in fucking cloud cuckoo land.
That is so so rude. And so intolerant. My beliefs are in no way imposing on you to provoke such ridicule. I am talking to God. If it manifests in my life as real and I see evidence of God in my life then its not mental illness its real. I know my life before I had Jesus/God as a friend and after, and even times after where I didn't always walk the walk, and my life is so rich and so blessed and I am amazed at how great my life is. This inspires me to do better and help others and be kind to others. I know I am a much nicer person for having this belief system.
As for the below the belt schizophrenia remark. I know very well what mental illness is. And that is not a definition of a schizophrenic. You can look it up in DSM (Diagnostic Statistic Manual of Mental Disorders) http://www.psychiatryonline.com/referral...pAod9gfuCA
I work in a psychiatric ward in the public health system here. I am currently studying my Masters in Mental Health. I know what I am talking about. That was a low blow and again a personal attack. Not necessary to make your point, or maybe for you it is, but then you lose the argument. I am surprised for a british person that you would be so blatantly rude. One of my close friends is british and she is very diplomatic. I too have a british passport as well as an aussie one because of my birth in Northern Ireland, its no big deal there are alot of people out there with a british passport.
