I'll discuss plankton. You are obviously aware that whales brutally massacre tons of plankton on a daily basis. These fantastic critters are essential to the Earth, most of them (cyanobacteria) being responsible for creating that lovely oxygen we all like to breathe, the rest sitting quietly on the bottom of the ocean converting waste into delicious organic material for other critters to use.
Whales are the reason that we can't pollute our atmosphere. Under normal circumstances, we could spew a shit-ton of hydrocarbon waste into our troposphere and sit back safe in the knowledge that our ocean faring algae have it covered, but NO. Whales had to go ahead and evolve in their irresponsible fashion. Fuck what humans want, huh whales?
