Athens County Coroner Harold Thompson said his preliminary ruling is
that a kidnapped Logan woman whose body was found Tuesday evening near
Nelsonville was strangled to death. Thompson told The Messenger on Wednesday that the provisional autopsy
report indicates Summer Inman, 25, died as a result of ligature
strangulation.
Thompson said Inman's body - which was found in a septic tank behind the
Faith Tabernacle Church just outside of Nelsonville on Route 33 - was
bound at the wrists with a zip tie. Thompson said that a zip tie was
also pulled tight around Inman's neck. Thompson said Inman was found
face down in the tank.
According to Thompson, her body also had some bruises and abrasions.
Thompson said further tests are being conducted and a complete autopsy
report might not be available for several months.
