IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn is being held without bail on charges that he raped a hotel maid, a court heard today.
Lawyers for the world's top banker claim he was having lunch with his daughter at the time he is alleged to have committed the sexual assault.
But after offering $1million in bail money, a Manhattan judge ruled the bank chief must hand over his travel documents and stay in prison on charges which could see him serve up to 25 years behind bars.
