Steven Lupson, 26, of Charleston was found dead on the scene near State Route 10 and appears to have been electrocuted. He was reportedly pronounced dead on the scene.
According to the WVSP Lupson’s wife appears to have been acting as a lookout along the road when Lupson was electrocuted around 6 a.m. Lupson’s body was found on the ground next to an aluminum ladder that had fallen away from a power pole. Tpr. J.K. Harris told the press that Lupson was attempting to steal the copper wire in order to purchase Oxycontin. Lupson may have been involved with several other copper thefts that have plagued Logan County residents in recent weeks, according to the WVSP.
