They don't pay $500 a year. I have seen the payroll deductions with my own eyes. Real life is usually a little different than what the Internet says.
Have you looked at the coverage for other federal employees? Some fatass in accounting should get free coverage and someone on a battlefield should pay?
I have state insurance. It sucks. I didn't mention how much my deductible is, but it isn't pretty.
