I am trying to reserve any comments that I might have until I have read the ENTIRE thread. With my default set at 100 posts per page, I am now on page 22 of the first thread. This is one of the most intriguing threads that I have read in a very, very long time. Thankfully, I am off work this week, so I will have plenty of reading time. I just hope I can remember some of the things that I have been wanting to say.
One comment that I will make now, regarding police escorts for funerals, is that here in Detroit, no matter how long the funeral procession is, unless it is a police/fire person, if you want a police escort, you have to pay for the services of the police dept. I have been in two fender benders on the cemetary ride, because of long processions and cars that have ran into the line. It can be a mess sometimes! I found it interesting to read that in some places having a police escort for the processions appears to be a community service.
