Aruban authorities have called off the search for Robyn Gardner of Frederick, 35, who went missing 8 days ago on the Caribbean island, according to Gardner's boyfriend, Richard Forester of Bethesda.
Gardner went missing Aug. 2 while on vacation in Aruba.
The authorities did not give a reason for calling off the investigation, he said.
Forester said that he may go to Aruba next week if the search does not continue.
He does not trust the Aruban authorities to handle the investigation, and they are not opening up to him about it, he said.
“I want the FBI involved,” he said. “I was told that the FBI would be involved, I was told that Interpol would be involved — I have not received confirmation on either.”
