Two young brothers, missing from their Detroit home since this morning, have been found, police said.
Rayshawn and Deshawn Bigsby, ages 3 and 2, respectively, were taken from a home in the area of 25th Street near Vernor, according to the Amber Alert issued today.
According to the alert, police believe the children were abducted by an 18-year-old woman, who, a person familiar with investigation told the Free Press, the boys’ father met online and had invited over.
Detroit police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens said officers on patrol observed a female with two small children walking in the area of Ashton and Sawyer.
“The officers stopped to investigate and confirmed that these were the missing children,” she said. “The brothers are in police custody and safe. The female has been arrested.”
The source said the woman was believed to have done this at least once before — taken someone’s children while they were sleeping.
It’s unclear whether the woman has ever been previously charged.
