September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
#3
St Jude's is an amazing place. They make things happen that wouldn't somewhere else. But donations there go towards treatment. More research needs to happen to get closer to the cure. Only about 2% of ACS funding is earmarked for children's cancer research. Relay 4 Life is a great organization, but so much is eaten by admin and advo that kids again take back row. CureSearch is one that funnels over 90% of donations directly to kids cancer research. A lot of the parents I work with have the highest praise for them. Always double check and do research, of course! And never second guess a donation to St Jude's because they treat and give so much, but whats needed is advancements in treatments. A cure!

I hate to be all morose and clinical but this is so close to me. Every time I get a new file I want to die a little. These kids are so brave and go through things that would break us grown ups. I just want to heighten awareness that this area of research is severely lacking.
