John Granat. Chicago teen brutally kills parents
#6
John Granat, 17, was denied bail after prosecutors showed graphic pictures of the blood-splattered crime scene. His father, John Granat, 44, had his jaw broken, his teeth knocked out and his kidney lacerated, prosecutors said. His mother, Maria Granat, 42, had been repeatedly stabbed.

Granat, dressed in a white jumpsuit, sunk his head to his chest during the bond hearing and did not look at the dozen aunts and uncles who filled the small benches behind the defense table.

Defense attorney Rick Beuke said no one in the family was aware of any strife. He said aunts and uncles on both sides of the family showed up in court today because they believe their nephew did not kill his parents.

"The fact that they are here shows they believe he is innocent," Beuke told reporters after the hearing. I DON'T THINK SO.
