Trying to find out where this case stands now. I don't think the ME has been able to perform an autopsy because the perp cut up Pamela and not all of her remains have been collected (perp claims he threw limbs in a dumpster, police have lower torso and legs from the suitcase, police found some body parts in perp's home but not sure which ones, I'm not sure if they have or have not found the head and internal organs). Ughh.
Here are the latest updates available:
The man police say dismembered a Gibraltar woman is not being charged with her murder.
Action News cameras were the only ones in court as 52-year-old James Thomas Bommer was charged with one count of dismembering and mutilating a dead body and one count of obstruction of justice.
Police say Bommer told them he and 32-year-old Pam Prpich were using fentanyl to get high when he found her dead from an overdose. He told police he then panicked and cut up her body to hide her death.
His preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 6 in front of 33rd District Judge Michael McNally. The exam was adjourned for a competency exam.
It could be several months before Bommer is back in court.
